All kidding aside, I hope you're not going to be pushing it this year. Seriously. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I don't want to see anyone get hurt or mess up their Fieros.

LOL, I think that the flag works. You don't sound harsh. I am going to be in the back pack this year. Unlike last year being up front. But I also don't want to see any one get hurt and I hope that every one that is going to the RFTH saw what happen to me and I hope that they think twice on how hard they should push there car. If you are the best driver in the world or you are just starting out stuff can happen.

It most certainly can. Even the best driver and the best car can't anticipate all possibilities - like an idiot in your lane in oncoming traffic, or debris and dirt in the road. At my first RFTH, I started in the sight seers group, just to get a feel for things. Once I had a better idea of the type of road, etc., I moved up to the Intermediate group. I can't ever see driving with the aggressive drivers.
I'm really looking forward to this year. I've been through Deals Gap, but I've never done the Cherohala Skyway. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm actually thinking about taking a weekend and going up there by myself and driving the loop just to see what it's like.

The aggressive group really isn't that different than the Intermediate group, even though I haven't driven in that group in my Fiero. Last year I was right behind Chuck (in his green, race-prepped Fiero), he was the lead of the insane group. It was an adrenaline rush, I was in my Camaro Z28 because my Fiero broke its coil, and I was having trouble keeping up. IIRC, on a few areas up there I managed to top out 2nd gear. I didn't get a look at the speedometer (was watching the road), but that would mean I was doing about 90 mph. So, it can get pretty crazy.

I'm not surprised. (That is not a dig on you or the Z28.) Aside from having his car slammed to the weeds, Chuck is a race driver. On real race tracks. With a real race car (NOT the green one.) I don't think many people are going to be able to keep up with him.
Heck... 2-3 years ago (before he started racing anything beyond autocross) when we went up to scout the run, I couldn't keep up with him. Has to do with experience, and how willing you are to take the chance of bending your car. It's a long walk (or tow-truck ride) home from Robbinsville.

It's been a long winter...............Business was taking every second of my time trying to keep my worthless employees busy making me money
I'll be at the Fiero Factory next weekend to drop my car off there to have Ed fix all my problems so this year hopefully I wont have to work on the car while at the run. Also when the FIER gets back from Ed I'll be ripping the body off of it again to start my widebody conversion. Hopefully I'll finish it up this year more than 12 hours before needed to leave for the Run. I'm going to be reserving my rooms this weekend so let me know if you want me to reserve one for you.

Well I called and reserved a room. I have a credit card and they did not ask me for a name. To make things better for me. What do you think? I tell you what. I will give them a call tomorrow and I will email you tomorrow and I will ask what is the age limit for check in.

We checked with the motel and they said they only have 3 more rooms left of the original block of 40 rooms that we reserved. New York Joe has reserved an extra 20 rooms. Be sure you tell them you are with the Fiero Club in order to get the reduced rates. We will keep check, and if these rooms also sell out, we'll go for another 20.
We have arranged for a very good sit-down dinner for Saturday night. It will be a reservations only meal. The cost is $25 per person. Stay tuned for the menu.
I just moved into my new place and money is tight, to reserve a room do I have to pre-pay anything? Or just give my CC? The Helendorf wanted me to pre-pay when I tried to reserve with them back in January. If they want me to pre-pay I'll probably hold off another month or so to reserve.
Its nice to see we almost have 40 people coming. Maybe we can hit our limit and get 60?

You don't have to prepay, but it has to be held on a Credit Card. I don't know what the cutoff date is, but there will be a specific date that if you haven't cancelled, you will be charged. They'll tell you that at the time you make your reservation.
Here's the planned menu:
Tale of the Dragon Dinner Menu At Harrah’s Hotel & Casino
Garden Green Salad French Dressing, Ranch Dressing Dual Entre of Herb Roasted Breast of Chicken and Top Sirloin Steak Chef's Selection of Vegetable Chef's Selection of Potato Rolls and Butter Dessert (choice of one).. Chocolate Cake, Cheesecake with Strawberries, or Carrot Cake Coffee/Tea/Decaffeinated Coffee
$21.95 plus 15% gratuity and 7% tribal levy = $26.77

I don't know of any other than Harrah's Casino and Hotel. I know there are others, but Joe Goodman is handling that aspect of the event. I'll check with him and get the information on here when I receive it. Good question. Thanks.
I know it is still far away in till RFTH but I was wondering what time are some of you leaving on that Friday? I am going to be leaving around 10:00am to 11:00am. If any one wants to drive up together would be cool.

Hey all. I've lined up a photographer to station himself at various places along the run to take pictures of the cars as they pass. He is going to do this for free and produce a CD. He will also be doing some filming that we will put into the event DVD. Since he is doing this for free, he asks if anyone will let him share a room with them at no cost. If any of you have a room by yourself, would you consider allowing him to share with you?
There will be people photographing and videoing at various points along the run as well as filming from the cars. I'm also trying to set up some aerial photography if we can get clearance to fly below 500 feet. I hope to make this the best documented Run For The Hills that we have ever had. I would like to have a camera in one of the cars in the first group (The Maniacs). I have a camera and mount if anyone would like to be the official camera car. Let Me Know.

Not sure if I'm considered to be in the "MANIAC" group but, I would like to throw my hat in to the ring for the camera mount. Sent me a little more info on it.

Thanks, Jesse. It's the mount and camcorder that I use to film the RFTH's. Mounts on top of your console just above the glove box. Takes about 10 minutes to mount. The camera has a small hand-held remote to operate it with. Of course if you're filming, you can't be out front outrunning everyone LOL.
