I saw this video of a DSM racing a 3800SC Fiero (video claims blown V8): http://videos.streetfire.net/video/33396be3-c98f-45b8-ac16-9e03b1856b5b.htm

I believe it took place in the Chicago area. Anybody recognize the car?

From my observations, it sounds like it has a cam, it is intercooled, and a manual tranny I think.

The 3800 s/c idling in the video does not sound familiar. Nice video.

Thats me alright, you can see all the problem I was having, look at my build thread, at the bottom of this page...

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/068188-6.html#lastpost

I should have pulled on him a lot harder, but the ECM was retarding my timing due to the broken bracket.

He was a real cool guy, I just wish he knew the corcect engine, its not a V8, but an L67.

I wrote multiple comments on the streetfire comments page about it no being a V8. A lot of people see that it is an L67 and are telling him to change it.

You have to get some speakers, the whine is the best part

I am not sure what I am putting down, probably around 300hp at the wheels hopefully.

The grand prix guys, with similar mods are getting around 350-400hp at the crank, so I can only estimate.

They are ACE 216's(or 214's I can't remember off the top of my head). they are imported from the UK, they are made for the VW Golf/Jetta.

Thanks for all the great comments, I really appreciate it.

And the Fiero's transmission would likely be all over the road.

By the way, the guy you raced was Golden86 on fiero.nl. He just posted about the race.

Funny because the trans in their cars are a heck of alot weaker than the getrag

Not so sure, considering a friend of mine has one putting between 340-380 to the wheels on stock tranny and transfer case(which is nearly indestructable)

Nice vid, sweet fiero, and surprisingly mature reaction/respect from the dsm's so good news all around.

Thats not the point. A supercharged 350 is going to be making enough tq to destroy that almighty getrag.

The DSM trannies have to be pieced together from different years to make a good one. I did a 6 bolt engine and 2g head with a 14b in a 2g TSi and my tranny was messing up with about low to mid 200 whp. I would take the Getrag over the DSM trans anyday. That transmission was fustrating to no end. I did enjoy the car though.
