Just wanted to let everyone know, and get some shlt talking started. Just for fun ya know.
We talking about street trim with DOT tires or running slicks? Impress me with running street tires and being the fastest. The fastest on the list doesnt impress me much being the times are ran on slicks. I wanna see a street trim car with those times.

Yes, these passes will be made on DOT legal tires. And I will drive it to and from the track, 20 miles each way.
No im not buying Don's car. But I can guarantee after I annihilate his time by 6/10ths his car will be up for sale in a bad way. Will it lose value since he wont be able to claim the fastest V6 record anymore?

I paid a visit to a buddy of mines shop the other day that I haven't been to in about 2 years.. Low and behold, there was an (remember.. I don't own a fiero, so sorry if I'm wrong) `88 GT Fastback (the one with the like long rear windows sloped, not the skinny ones if that makes since), with a 512 big block chevy in it (454 bored .125 over), which was an old motor out of his sons `68 Camaro. I guess someone in Orange County gave him the car, and Mark said he wanted to mess around with something that hadn't been done before..
I thought it was funny.. 800+ hp in a small ass car! I still have yet to see them get ANY traction whatsoever!

By you. Already starting with the excuses, I see. Maybe you should put a disclaimer next to all of your bullshiat that mentions it's only against the cars you want to compete against. I'm sure you'll find a reason anyting faster won't qualify.
I look forward to watching your blow up more parts. This should be funny.
By me? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Fiero Nope, read the first line of the description. Thats just the way it is. Once the engine leaves the rear, its no longer a fiero.
Oh, and jealousy overwhelms you. Go back to your regularly scheduled boring life, and just off yourself.

I also noted that the Fiero never came with a Buick supercharged engine...where does the line get drawn??

Couldnt said it better myself.
I just wish you would put some $$$ into a tranny.
Good Luck.

2 more weeks and I will have worlds fastest 1/4 mile fiero....Just wanted to let everyone know, and get some shlt talking started. Just for fun ya know.
Yeah...Well...So what? I've got the dustiest Fiero that sits in my garage and never leaves.
Good luck.. Bob
PS, it doesn't matter where you put the engine, if the chassis has a Fiero VIN, it's a Fiero, regardless of what Wikipedia says.

Well considering the fastest time by any Fiero is 10.98 and the last time you dyno'd you had the power, If I recall you had trans problems. So I assume that has been cleared up? What trans did you end up getting and what was done to it? What are you expecting for times, mid or high 10's? Good luck, I'll be waiting for the vids.
BTW ~ Don't bet against FieroX making it into the 10's, Many said he'd never get into the 11's and his last run was in the mid 11's with a iffy trans!

All these Fieros ppl are listing that are faster, they maybe fast but are not daily drivers. They get hauled to the track on a trailer, make a few runs and back on the trailer they go. To me thats fast, kool, ect but not a respectable as a Fiero that is daily driven, driven to the track, runs good times and driven home(or maybe took home by AAA). Get into the 11s or lower in a daily driven Fiero and you deserve respect.

well, im not going to say that my car is daily driven anymore. Id say, weekendly driven. Its just too expensive to fix all the time, not to mention the gas prices. I do think the tranny will hold up better now though. Im pretty excited. I found quite a few things wrong with the old tranny, and started from scratch with a new core. I just swapped over my hard parts and torque converter, and went to town. The major thing I found wrong with the old one, the 1-2 shift valve was stuck in the valve body, and stuck so hard that I had to pull it out with pliers. good times. Anyway, Ill have the tranny put together this week, and Ill have everything put back together within about a week. I just said 2 weeks on the track thing, so I could get the tranny broke in and stuff. It going to happen. theres nothing that can keep me away from 10's. If I had to guess I would say 10.50-10.60, 131-133 mph. 1.6x 60' times.

That would have been a cool project. And probably better luck than your Fiero endeavors....
quote
Quoted by: FieroX Almost got the new tranny finished. Ive been working on it the past two days and its about 90% done now. I think ive decided what Im gonna do. If this tranny holds for 1 pass on the street, im taking it straight to the track. Im going to get my mid 10 second pass and then retire the engine in X. I have come to the conclusion that #1 this engine is too powerful for pretty much any FWD transmission. and #2 my car has been down way too much and its no longer fun to break stuff and then back to the drawing board. Ive put 800 miles on my car in the last 15 months. Thats not fun. Ive spent over $8000 in parts getting everything together, 2 engines, 3 transmissions, 2 turbos, and all the electronics to make it all work. Not fun when its $10 per mile. So the tranny is about done, i may be going to the track tomorrow to see if itll hold or blow. I vote for explode, that way if it does break I wont be shocked.
Oh and btw, I broke the drive chain and ruined the drive sprockets, destroyed all of the clutches, and one of the clutch drums. The tranny had less than 600 miles on it, and most of the miles were just cruising around miles. I would say it had about 30-35 hard passes on it, and maybe 10 dyno pulls.
Edit: I'll leave this post because I'm genuinely interested in whatever became of the plans for a Firebird. I do think it would make a better quarter mile platform than a Fiero.

Oh, don't forget, if your car isn't legal to run the time bracket it's in, your runs won't count. If live your life by the quarter mile, you're gonna have to abide by it's rules. As much as we might enjoy pics of your ego spattered down the retaining wall, do try to be safe.
SAYS WHO? I maintain the 1/4 mile list and I can give a rats ass about whether the car is legal. Besides, every car has to pass a tech inspection before it goes down the track, thats good enough for me. If you don't care why are you even posting in this thread?
Not making excuses, but about the above mentioned V8 Fiero, where is it now? I live in MD and been to a number of shows in the PA and NJ area and never seen or heard of this car. Not saying it didn't exsist but what happened to it? Oh, and it looks like it had slicks.
