This thread sounds really familiar. What a surprise.
Sorry any Loyde fans but I really did not appreciate the emails I got from Loyde after I had to build a harness for another customer of his. Who fortunatly did not completely pre pay for a harness that never got done by him.
And Loyde please do not email me, bashing me again, rather spend your time making this guys harness.
Pete

I spoke with Loyde around the 20th of Dec and he told me he would be out of town until January. Be patient and hopefully you will get your harness soon. I sure as HE(double hockey stick) better get my harness before you. I have been the poster child for patience for my harness.
As others have said Loyde is out of town but I have no clue where he is not that it matters. The past year for him has been slow with his personal life and other things that have went on. He is back to gaining ground on his work and will be catching up with all his backorders soon enough. I am also waiting on a harness and sure I have the lead when it comes to time waiting for a harness. But this will be my second harness form him and it is well worth the wait. You will not find a cleaner harness install and someone more willing to help you out at most anytime of the day. I am not making excuses for Loyde but just giving everyone a little insite into whats going on.

As an alternative, I chose to send my harness to Dan (FieroFlyer on the forum) just before Christmas. I had thought that I would do the harness but didn't feel comfortable with it. I received an email from Dan the other day. My harness is about finished and will be on the way back. Dan has been great to work with and is making the harness for a price that I think is very reasonable. Check him out!
With Loyde being busy with other things, anyone know who else can program OBD II? As soon as my harness comes back, I'm ready to reinstall with the exception of the programming.
Thanks, matt

I last talked to Loyde in mid December and believe that he may still be in China for another week. He did tell me that he was taking the materials with him to complete three 3800 SC harnesses and would have them completed when he gets back. I have no idea as to who will get them but certainly hope that one of them is mine.

I was in contact with Lloyd before Christmas as well, while I also feel it is very bad that he is holding up so many people by not doing the work he has agreed to do I also understand that he is going through a very rough time with his personal family life. Yes he should not have let this happen and should have done some thing about it by finishing the work and not taking on any new projects. With that said I personally will not kick a man while he is down he is taking care of what matters the most right to him right now and that is his family. As stated above I also do wiring harnesses for any that can not wait any longer I can make them a harness to get their projects back on track for those that can wait I know Lloyd will appreciate your patience and will hopefully get his personal problems solved and be able to get back to work on finishing the harnesses he still needs to finish. Dan
If you go on the Ontario Quebec Grand Prix club there is a guy named Will who can do programming on auto swapped PCM's and a guy named Kevin who can do programming for manual and auto swapped PCM's. They both charge around $300 CDN which I feel is too much but that is what they charge. Dan
After waiting for a period of nearly 9 months I could not wait any longer. The deal fell through. Yes Loyde is very good ( so Ive heard) but I just ran out of patients.
So, I did my own wiring. And if I may say myself it looks pretty damn clean. We do have options.

You can learn basic thing in a couple of evens. (changing injectors and MAF, disabling security and emmisions) If you want a top notch tune, then it will be an on going process of learning and adjusting your tune.
I am working on 3 tunes for my car. 1) For gas mileage 2) Performance on 93 octane 3) Performance on 109 octane unleaded

I have never had my ODBII reprogramed. but it is hooked up to a Getrag, so all the tranny wires are gone. No error codes! runs 13.2 at the track
with a bit of reprograming I would just raise the rev limter and maybe delete the tranny stuff. that would be about it.
Wiring?? $hit do it yourself!! Get schmatics from both cars and do some work! what is hard about it??[ pin 1, blue wire goes to a sensor] with good schmatics it will tell you where that sensor is located. As far as what combines with the Fiero wires? only about 10 - 15 wires and even that part is very well documented on here.
Pull your scared butt off the couch and at least TRY to do it yourself. if you really can't do it...well pay out the a$$ for someone to do the work for you. But you will never say you did all the work yourself.....you had someone hold your hand.

The wiring is something that I wasn't interested in delving into. I vaguely tried to do it and realized that I wasn't interested in studying it enough to do it right. I could probably have done it but I wasn't willing to sweat the details.
I'm interested, how did you disable the VATS? What did you do to recalibrate the tach? Did you reconnect all of the emissions sensors?
Thanks, matt
P.S. - I typically don't sit on the couch...I sit in my chair!
If doing a 3800SC swap using the 4T65E tranny, a 97 to 2000 GTP PCM and all the emissions the PCM will work with out needing programming. It is a good idea to use the GTP PCMs as they are the ones the programmers work with if you plan on doing any upgrades to the engine, these years of GTP PCMs also work with out the pass key and are the easiest to deal with. Dan
hey Matt, I wasn't saying anything bad to you or anyone else about the wiring. Just saying...
There are several people on here that said the same thing you did. That's fine, it all comes down to..."It's your car" do as YOU please. Right?
I use a passkey board that I made from a design on line somewhere.$10 in parts from Radio shack. All my emissions are in and working, except for the front Os sensor. I bought a faker module. The tack hooks right up. NO recal. needed.
If you get a reprogramed PCM, All that can be deleted, or what ever you want.
Sorry this got off track, I have not heard from my buddy Loyde lately. girl trouble still I hear
No offense taken! I'm just trying to move this project forward and the quickest way for me to get that done was to purchase a harness rather than build it myself. My car has been disassembled in my garage for about 1 1/2 years. It hadn't run for a year or so before that. So, I'm doing whatever I can to get it started by spring!
So anyway, where's Loyde? I've sent numerous emails to him that haven't been returned. I'm in discussions with someone else now who is just getting the OBD II software. If things pan out, I'll let everyone know!

Any news on where Loyde is or when he will be back?
He told me in the early part of December that he was going to China for the holiday period and would be back home for the January NTFC meeting - end of Jan.
