Hey guys... sorry for the slow response - it's been a busy week!

But yes, as someone else noted from another thread - the color is Jaguar Racing Green (and the car was painted by Firefox). It is similar to BRG (British Racing Green), although BRG isn't mettalic - whereas the Jag Racing Green is.

When it came time to repaint my car a few years ago, I started looking closely at almost every green car I saw on the road... then I saw a JRG car in the Jaguar booth at the Mpls auto show - and it just struck me. It's strange though, how the car changes with lighting (and the actual color is very difficult to capture)... at night under "gas station" lights it takes on a blue/teal tone - under direct sunlight it has a very rich green w/lots of metallic, and under bright overcast skies - the metallic is nearly invisible...

Thanks everyone for the positive comments!

I'll see what I can do about rounding up some more pics...

Glad to hear that you finally "settled" on something - sometimes that is the hardest step!

Now... lemme see what I can find for pics! These are mostly "snapshots" from other people... it helps to show the different variations you can see in the paint at different times...

And here's the "Paint the GreenGT" thread from May of 2004: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/A...041015-1-041514.html

..whew! hopefully that will sustain your appetite for pics!

from an archived thread... but still makes me laugh (usually all the jokes are at my expense

----------------------------

Rob...
I knew someday, someday... I would need to drag these pictures out.
You see fellow PFF'ers, Rob needed 'help' with his vision for his car.

It was a cold and rainy Sunday. And Rob was proud of his British Racing green Fiero.
So he decided to accent it with blue stripes.

Pay no attention to the black seat cover. That is Eric's (Racingman24) idea of good taste.
We cannot blame it on Rob.

Now I am just too proud of Rob's car to let other's see it in the shape that he had it in.
So after a few minutes of Blake treatment, we have this:

------

and now that Rob friendly hates me for posting these...
you can also see what his gold wheels looked like prior to the new ones.

Rob, the new ones are great. I like your tastes.
But next time, I would go with a Hefty Cinch-Sack over the Glad 3-ply on the seats

Again... a big "Thanks" to all who have shared their praise. I try not to attention-whore with the car at all, but I really do enjoy your positive comments.

One thing I've said repeatedly, that I still stand by for everyone: Build your car to your tastes... don't worry about what other people want or think of your car as long as it's what you want & like. The stuff I've done (even the color of the car) isn't for everyone - and I'm totally OK with that!

Thank you so much for that post... it totally made my day! I even had to show my wife because I was laughing so much!

Just for those not "in the know" - the Blue Striping was for the track day held on the road course at Heartland Park (Topeka, KS) during CFOGi's WheatStock 2004. And here is my "Proud Moment" from that day: Click to Download (2.7MB)

Actually Rob,

I just prefer to think that you were going SOOOoooo fast... that the tape would not hold and contorted into the mess you had.

No way it could have been short bus apllication techniques in a torrential downpour...

Hmmm... if you don't spin at least once in the wet - then you're either not trying hard enough... or your car doesn't have enough power to break the tires loose

Ummm.... yeah... that was it. I was just going so bloody fast that they just bunched right up!
(my wife really laughed at the "short bus application" thing...

And now for a few more proud moments:

Blake at the driver's meeting. (are you wearing your seat cover?)

Eric's trophy after we got home:

And after all this, I'm surprised no one mentioned how I finished my day on the track:

Awww... I don't think you look like a big black version of Bibo (the Michelin Man)... I think you look more like a garbage bag getting ready to race in the rain!

I love your car, but your tips are too small. Wingtips that is.

See this thread on how to get bigger tips

LOL - The car will likely get (at least slightly) larger exhaust tips after an engine swap... but I personally love the wing in it's stock dimensions... "WingTips" are not a mod you'll likely ever see on the GreenGT (the choptop I still occasionally consider in the back of my mind... but there are still more-pressing things than that)
