The flares...if they were molded in and lost the screw hole indentions...might be ok.They work with the wheel offset. However...the side splitters in front of the front tires...and that nose wing...need to be in a trash can somewhere.
i'd drive it, i think. for some reason i can see flares like that on a coupe more than a fast back though. i think of fastbacks as kind of "sleek" and that style of flare takes away from that.
the nose wing would have to go... or maybe paint it black like a handle bar moustache, and spend all day trying to race everything that pulls up next to me... like a gun fighter.
the 'ex-D' on the front wing is actually the name of a Japanese Anime called 'ex-Driver'. The anime is about two girls who drive 'old' style cars (it takes place in the future and all cars are automated). In it they drive old famous European cars like Lancia Stratos, Ferrari 308s, and the likes, and they're heavily moddified just like this Fiero is (with flares and weird wings). That's probably where this owner got his/her inspiration to do their modifications to their Fiero.
It doesn't seem weird that the Fiero is popular over there, since the Japanese love small cars that are RWD. Usually driving a foreign car is a sign of wealth.

Agreed. I can even put up with the screws, but the other stuff, nahhhh...
it looks like they riped the wheel flares off a truck and what the heck is up with that front wing what they do try to run over a honda and the wing got stuck on the front and they just keep it on there. Other then those the car look great.

Come on guys; thats not a wing on the nose, it's smilely face, you'd see it strait-away if the lites were up. Just because its easy to bolt somethign on a car, dont mean one should. But then, I've done some pretty wierd things too like my huge extractor scoop etc.
Normally, I'm not critical of what people do to their cars. I may have an opinion but try to keep it to myself. HAVING SAID THAT, Damn! That's ugly! It looks like an explosion at J.C. Whitney!
DCFox is right....Mold those flares in and I MIGHT consider them worth the work. As of now, they look like they belong on a Jeep.

Wow! I had no idea there were more than a handfull of Fieros in Japan. I have been on Okinawa Island for 9 months and haven't seen a single one. I wish their forum was in english so I could find out where these cars are. Maybe I'll see one eventually.
Just in case you were wondering, no, none of those cars are mine. My GT is back home in Texas with my mom.
For those wondering, I import sports cars from japan for a living up here in Canada.
The car was a black 88GT with 44k miles, auto, gray cloth interior.. it was damn sweet. I lost it because my broker forgot to place my bid. damnit. It ended about $700 under what I was willing to pay too!
There is a very beat up red GT still at auction is anyone is interested. 88 auto with about 80k I believe. It's a real beater.

As pointed out the flairs are required by law since some of the tire is exposed. Like em or not they have to have them.
I am suprised they left the stock mirrors on and did not require fold away mirrors.
As for the rest of the car I have seen worse on this web site before.
Some American cars are very popular over there. Old Caddys, Astro vans, Caprice wagons, Camaros and a few other cars are very popular and expensive. We sell a lot of parts for American car to Japan.
The key is most of these cars are owned by the wealthy people as the larger the engine the more tax you pay. Also as a car gets older the more tax you pay. Also the expense of parking in a large city can be more than most make in a year.
This is why Japan is over run with so many square 3 cylinder boxes with turbo's. It is all many can afford.
Who ever this guy is More power to him. I appluad you for owning a Fiero in Japan.

I think that says something for Fiero that this person picked it out of so many other sports cars he could've had! As for his mods, it's not my cup of tea but that's what makes the world go round. I'm sure if he saw our cars he'd probably think we were boring with no imagination.......Well, not all of us. <lol>

Japan has two types of Fieros.
The fieros that were sold new in the 80's are equipped with the flares and different mirrors. They also have split front indicators and the notchback have flashers integrated in the rear bumpers since they need amber turn signals. Oh and the Stock Fiero Flares look much better then what is in the photo above. I will provide a photo later on today.
Japan is also graced with many later imports, these cars are mostly like ours without flares or different mirrors. It seems they have a double standard if the car is impoted later into their country.
These cars are actually fairly affordable in Japan. There is a mint 85coupe going for about 150,000jpy. The 88 GT with 44kmiles I was bidding on sold for 200,000jpy and the red beater 88 GT is currently also at 200,000jpy.
This is the fiero I was bidding on, it was located in Kagawa Prefecture
here is the beater 88GT that's still available in Japan, 18hours left at auction
here is a fiero up for sale that was sold as a new car in Japan. 84 Auto 64,000km asking 150,000jpy Notice the stock fender flares, different mirros, buldgy side marker lamps and split front flashers and rear flashers in bumper.

Very interesting info and pics FieroMontreal, gives me some new ideas... BTW - did you notice the surround of the Notchback tail-lights is red and not black. ------------------
