That black in the radio space, ya thats the empty hole where the radio was SUPPOSED to be in the most recent car I picked up. I show up, check it out, and the stereos gone. Guy said it got stolen the night before I came...pfff, ya right

Ooh. I always kind of LIKED the fiero's interior for its spartan and sparse effects... What you say is true, though, there's little imaginative about it.

If they were going with a ' high tech ' pod look, they should have went the extra mile and made them all digital. Otherwise I like a plain ole simple normal dash.

The sad and funny part is that Ridezelightning hit the nail right on the head. That dash looks overly simple and cheap even by 80's standards. My friend, when riding along in my Fiero when I first got it, immediately said that the aux gauges in the middle look like they've been borrowed from a truck and added in as a half-"thought out" afterthought. (I'm being more polite than the word he used.)
Don't worry, GM didn't learn its lesson. The solstice is even worse. At least it got cupholders though. (in the wrong spot, but hey, at least something..)
I would love a dash that was similar to Fie RO's. That looks classy. Even premium cars have a hard time living up to that one. Plus, the exterior color being repeated on the inside really reminds me of MINI Coopers.

Hey at least they got the outside right. 20 years later my 88 still turns heads of old and young alike so I can live with the interior especially with a DOHC 3.4 in the back.
I love that one, too, and have all the pix I could find. Enfuriating to think that there was a mold made, it might even still exist and this dash is not available for purchase!
Grrr!

The mould does still exist and according to another thread somewhere I think a guy in California or somewhere out West owns it and wanted like 50,000 for it.
very awesome, only reason i wouldn't choose it is it seems a little... busy for my tastes. I prefer a more "cosy" feeling, like the other ones posted (the mystery interior and Fie-ro's ).

I do see your POINT.... "it seems a little... busy". I do like it but without all that digital stuff and it looks similar to the original Fiero interior but modernized.

This one looks to be the most economical using stock gauges, vents, etc. It appears to be cover pieces encapsulating the old dash after some trimming & slight mods. Not bad at all, it could pass as an '89 interior. Has potential as an affordable conversion kit.

i like the fieros interior, ya its dated, but it fits the car, im 5'8" and i guess i dont understand the cracked dash corners, mine are perfect and my knee's have never touched the dash corners maybe i get in and out differantly, but my knee's dont even come close
You just have to add a few things and some color. BTW: all those gauges and the stcok ones work. I saw a Lotus E that had a pod dash that look something like a Fiero.
I'm sorry to report that this week I saw the most beautiful stock modified dash on the planet inside a Fiero.

Nothing to be sorry about. Do share pictures though..
I tried too, but Longs Drug store employee was on her darn lunch break, hehe. I needed to unload my digital camera pics. Oh yeah, I've seen the most beautiful modified door panels on a Fiero and much, much, more!

This is the only shot I found. Not clear.

madcurl, your dash is cool as hell. For me though i couldn't have something that looks like surgically sterile environment. I really like the cockpits of fighter jets and planes, this is ultimately what style i want in my fiero. But i also like getting into something and feeling like is giving me a hug everytime i close the door.
I want a cozy fighter jet cockpit lol. call me ricey, but I like lots of gages. Blue light up gages. And lots of switches and buttons. I like everything covered in a fabric or leather. Heres something i made. Im working on a new one now so this is junk but its kinda neat still.

The Solstice interior looks pretty good to me...

That looks good. Sort of a cross between Pisa dash, & Fie Ro's console. Nice doors too. The Ford GT dash looks cool, I would bring the gauges closer together though.
