Well I decided to go car shopping today. So I'm in for Saturday. From what I was reading from the hemmings page, it's $45 and the gate open at 8:30am right? The forecast looks to be clear and cool.

i am a member of the royal pontiac club ,my daughter and i will be going but my fiero will stay home( 87 2.5 5spd 223,000 miles too many miles to race) but i will have my white 86 grand prix and my daughters 90 turbo gp. my son has a soccer game so he won't be bringing his 86 se 3.1 5spd. everyone laughs because he never stops making runs, he usually makes 30-35 runs in the 3 hrs including the eliminations for our club.

I am all set to go tomorrow. Looks like it is going to be cool. Good for boosted cars! See everyone there. I hope to be there at about 9AM. Got my fingers crossed for 11s!

I should be in bed.. i spent the whole night tuning, dialed my maf table in so good that I am just going to clear the fuel trims before every race (kidding).
I am bringing a few helmets, an axle, good for either side, a gas can to get either 100 or 110 octane, and my tuner, along with a huge box of tools.
If anyone needs anything, post here in the morning ill try to catch this window before I leave.

All in all, I was pretty pleased with my numbers. It was my first time at a dragstrip so it was a really fun learning experience. I was really happy that I was able to break into the 12's! I had pretty bad traction issues. I just need to learn how to work the throttle better. I have to keep practicing to cut my 60ft's down into the 1.7's. Even on my best run of the day I could still feel quite a bit of wheel slippage, and that's with 245's on the rear!
There was a pretty good Fiero turnout. DarkHorizon and his friend was there along with Matt Hawkins. All in all, there were four Fiero's that all ran in the 12's ( and one in the 11's) So we represented well. Alot of people were talking about us.
Unfortunately DarkHorizon's friend blew his differential to pieces on a burnout and had to get towed home, and DarkHorizon lost his keys and had to tear apart the steering column to get it running again, but in true hot-rodder style, he got it up and running and got two or three more 1/4mile passes. ------------------- '88 GT- 257rwhp 319rwft/lbs 12.95@106.1mph

There is plenty left in the car looking at the 60 ft time, but I came and went in one piece. Wheel hop is dangerous at this power level. Diff go boom. Either way, I am happy that I finally go the 11s slip. I will consider it an early Birthday present since my big day is coming up on Monday.
It was nice meeting everyone and I hope next time we can get more people out.

nobody had cameras... My 2 friends forgot theirs...
Wheel hop was bad that day, seems the track had some un-even rubber laid down in the 60'. We all complained of it, but I dont think it really hurt anyone that bad, I ran my 12.8 when I wheel hopped really bad. My first run, I actually played it easy, and I got a bit sideways spinning the tires, and still ran a 14. So that goes to show how inconstant the track was for the first few passes.
I dont think we could of asked for a better day, weather wise.
