The selections of the pictures for the playing cards has been completed!

WOW, There are a lot of very nice cars.

87 Pegasus (Mike) has all the pictures and those selected will be notified by him via E-mail or PM.
We had 275 pictures to look at!!!
With the large number of pictures submitted and only 52 spots to fill, we decided to hold onto the ones not selected so if a second run is done we will use pictures that were not in the first run.

Mike is in the process of converting the 52 selections into the format and size required by the company making the cards.
We will start accepting Pre-Orders in a day or so as soon as we set-up the page.
The cards will start shipping the first week in June and also be available at the 25th show.

Here is a picture of some of the many nice cars that were submitted being evaluated. (the cars in the pic are submitted pics, Not neccesarily ones selected.)

BIG THANKS to all who submitted a picture.

With so many nice pictures of our awesome cars, why not make it a double pack of playing cards. 1 deck of Notchbacks and the other of Fastbacks?

Anywho, should be the coolest deck of cards I'll ever played with.

Mike has to sort thru them. We did not have your names when we looked thru the pictures, Mike had them numbered and the folks who sent multiple pics were stapled together.
So give Mike a day or so to get it organized and folks Emailed. He will make a post after he has sent them out.

The ones in the pic above are half of the custom cars, The custom cars do make up half the deck. Just because you might see your car on the table, It is not an indication if you did or did not get selected.

We wanted to have a good mix of each body style, each color, each year, stock cars, and custom cars. We also added in 4 of the GM prototypes like the Turbo GT, 89/90 prototype, the Huffaker IMSA race car, and the convertible prototype. Finally although we looked thru 275 pictures, Many folks sent in either multiple views or multiple cars. To be fair each person who submitted multiple pics, Only one pic per person was used. So out of the 125 people that submitted a pic or pics, 48 people have a car in the deck (the 4 proto's make up the last four) and as you can tell we still have enough pics if we decide to do a second run.

Sorry, I misunderstood the first post. I thought if you did not get an e-mail or PM by tonight you were not in. If it takes a couple of days that is fine by me 'cause it means I still have a chance to be in the deck I was just stating I think it is a cool project and I am buying a couple of decks even if my car is not in.
Thanks to all of you that spent your Friday night and Saturday looking through pictures for this project

Mine was a prototype but bought by DGP so Pontiac couldn't slow his progress as in the past with red tape. It is the only one titled for street due to this. It was done by one of the closest outside workers to GM as DGP built the first SD4 in 82 and all that followed and the Iroc-z Camaro bodies to mention a few until they sold out . GM trusted Bob Birchmiere to work off campus and on for any project they had with there design team. Just thought I would note this as I have this documented on paper and on hours of tape recorded conversations. Rick

Sorry everyone I got tied down with family stuff last night we went out for dinner and then played some cards. lol.

Those of you were picked should receive an e-mail later tonight or tomorrow. I have to sort through the picture and match the numbers I assigned to them to the people and e-mails so it will take a little time to go through them. So they have said those one there not selected I will hang on to all of them incase we go to print again.

Woo hoo!

Got the email saying mine was chosen. :-D

How are you choosing which picture goes on what number/suite card? Is it randomly? Can we ask to have a certain one?

The images will be randomly placed by the card company the card company needs 52 different files. There are 6 out of the 52 images that the panel decided to use for the Aces, Kind of Spades and the Queen of Hearts. (from the selection committee) - "We had multiple requests for placement on aces, the selection committee decided to put GM prototype cars on all the Aces other than that the images will be random through the deck". The card company after I send them the files will put them into their card program print them and using a die cut machine will cut all 52 cards at once out of the sheet and box them up.

No luck here, but I had an idea if you decide to make another deck in the future. It might be neat to split up the suits in some unique way. For example, you could split the suits by engine swap:

4cyl - Diamonds
stock V-6 - Clubs
V-8 - Spades
3800 - Hearts (ok, I'm biased)

Another idea might be brakes, engines, interiors, wheels, etc. Just a thought - I still want two sets of these, thanks!
