Hi all, finally got my hands on a Fiero, just like to share it with you guys n gals. You don't really see many over here, It was parked up a guys drive way for many years, managed to get him to part with it for Ģ1000.
It was a bit rough round the edges when i got it back in January, heres pics as is now
The engines a GM (vauxhall) 2.0 16v c20xe, more commonly known as the 'redtop'.
here's the engine bay before i got my hands on it...

This forum has been a great help over the past few months, as there isnt really a huge following in the UK, so this place has been my main source of info.

Really nice job on it. Now I just need to get you to come to the Fieros Europe II meet 25 - 27 July here in Germany and meet some of the other European Fiero Owners.

The before and after of the engine is awesome. It really looks like it belongs in there! The cluster is really cool too, what did that come out of? -Jason
Thanks for the comments! The dash came out of the same car as the as the engine. MK2 Vauxhall Astra GTE, It was originally a crappy yellow colour, There's a guy over here makes coloured films to your liking.
Although there are some large ???'s over the accuracy of the speedo and fuel gauge, but heck... it looks cool.

Very fine looking set of wheels that you've got there. How do you like the performance of the 2.0 Liter Vauxhall engine? Thats a bit small by American standards but if its similar to the perfornace of the supecharged GM Ecotec then its probably very responsive. I also wonder how hard it was to swap that engine into a Fiero.

Very nice! I'll be visiting my Daughter late June in Northwich Cheshire, I'll do some Fiero spotting while I'm there. Took her Father-in-law for a 0-60 blast in mine when they visited here last summer, he says there aren't many there, all private imports. GM didn't officially import any new.

So difficult to say anything remotley discouraging about your Fiero. A motamorphasis of the highest degree. Now some questions can begin: Tell us where the two covered spooled wires connect to, in the truck area? How many miles on the car? Was the past owner a service man? What is the history of the car--as you know it? What are/is the tire size(s)? Are there any other upgrades like suspension, clutch etc., we should know about? Contact Yellow in Germany. He would be a valuable resource. Keep us informed.
Torch-Red87- , That picture is amazing, (I actually said 'holy sh*t' when i saw it) Did you take that Photo? When was it taken? This ties in with what the previous owner was telling me about engine swap been done in Germany, Ive just looked at the export document, and it looks like it was brought to UK in 1998 by either Marko Fabian or Harry Gerhard Fabian from Bad Munstereifel, Euskirchen. (possibly the owner at the time of your photo)
Look at all the expanding foam they used in the trunk, It took me hours to remove all that! Have you any more Pictures?
Those spooled wires run to the relocated battery in the trunk. The brakes/suspension are stock except the lowered springs, with 16'' rims, 205/50/16's on the front. 225/50/16's on the rear. Gearbox is the F20 which is Astra also, I believe the Fiero driveshafts mated perfectly. (good old GM)
The supposed stock HP for these early redtops is 156hp, It feels quick and responsive, But then its the first Fiero ive driven, so nothing to compare it to.
I'll try get some more pics up later today.

Nice engine, wheels, and uniquely detailed; I like that. Those Borbets wheels match the car too and I sold a set of Borbet 15s to Songman years ago and kept the Borbet 17x7.5.

Torch-Red87- Thanks for the picture and info! Please got in touch if you find any more I wonder if i could get in touch with Charles Shepherd, Anybody know if he uses this forum?
None of the gauges worked when i first got it, This is what i was greeted with after removing the pod/cowling-
and after...
This picture would help anyone interested in using these digi gauges, (the wires to the left of the connector blocks are from the digi dash, right are Fiero). Unfortunately there are 2 looms that come from the dash, but I only took a picture of this 1.
There is loads of information about these gauges and their wiring on this vauxhall forum 'www.migweb.co.uk' search 'digi' or 'digital'. The only problem I can see is the speedo transponder, whether you could link the transponder to the speedo cable? accuracy will be an issue though. This wasn't an issue for me as i had the correct gearbox/speedo drive
Madcurl- did you actually have those Borbet's on your car like in your picture? those 17's look seriously cool.
Crazy Fiero Kid- The front bumper is a standard 87 coupe bumper, I think it looks different because I had the idea of leaving the 'mouth' white. Its blue now though.
Iam really regretting not taking more pictures, here's one of the interior on first arrival. (sorry about the poor quality)
