Unless 30 more people sign up in the next few days this part of the 25th event will not happen. That will be a sad thing in my book because it was the highlight of my trip to the 20th. The stories alone that came out of the track day are well worth the investment. Don't you want to see all the hot cars at speed on the track making the most noise they can????
C'mon guys and gals, John and Golden Gate Fieros have put in a lot of hard work on this. The track cost is $3600. So for 36 cars, it's $100.00 per car. John, what about opening it up to other cars that Fiero owners have? Is that an option, or is it only Fieros.
John had mentioned 24 cars at $150.00 per car. How about it folks? Who here with a V8 or 3800SC wants to see if they can get a time close to RRunners car? Where are all of the guys and gals that love to talk about their cars performance? Come on out to this event and show everyone what you have.
It is not just about the racing, you will also receive quality time behind the wheel receiving professional instruction. It can also be a help in everyday driving.

I mentioned this before in the Track Day thread - Fieros are, of course, preferred, but you can run *anything* that passes tech inspection (which isn't that hard to do).
You can Paypal your track registration to: goldengatefieros@pacbell.net
$100, refundable. Put "25th track day" in the notes section.

I have a hard time beliving that of the thousands of people on this forum we can't get 35 that want to drive thier car at speed. It blows me away that anyone would not want to do this that owns a Fiero. My first time on the track was well worth the cost and any small risk there might be. With 3 class ranging from beginner to advance there is safe fun for all. If you think a very big Fiero car show is fun you can't imagin how it feels to have or see a bunch of Fieros all flying around the track at speed. Passing is only in certain areas of the track and all drivers will be sure NOT to T bone you.
After your first session you will have forgot about the cash it cost and will be impatient for there next session. You will not be able to keep it all inside and will be stopping anyone within 10 feet of you to tell them how you did and what happened out there.
Come jion the fun and make this a GREAT event!!!

And after all the bragging and flame wars about who's car is the best, now's the chance to see who can actually DRIVE their car...or is it all talk and no action?

For all the local folks it's a great deal...but I intend to drive my car thousands of miles to get there and back. It would be a HUGE risk to drive it at speed on a track. If gas wasn't $4 a gallon I would tow the car there, but that would add about $500 to my already extensive gas bill.

I'd pay an extra $50 to make sure this happens. Happiness is: A track with only Fiero's and only your friends
Don't give up on us yet CCR! There has got to be some more attendess that would like to experience an event like this. There is no way you could get that amount of seat time for that amount of money... anywhere.

I was just a passenger on the track during the 20th. It is a road course and the car I was in, an 88 GT auto, was hitting 70 mph on the back straight away about the fastest that car hit. Since it is a twisty route, lots of turns and bends at 35-50 which would give you a work out. It was lots of fun. Unfortunatly, I won't be driving the track, as I'm driving ~1300 miles to get to Pontiac and still need to drive home. I'm doing the Michigan track day on Sunday and won't be pushing my stock 21 year old car on that track either. I did the road track at Gateway International in 1998 when the FOCOA had it meet there. I still have the helmut I bought for that trip. I hope that enough sign up for the event. I think Gateway cost $5000 ($50 per car) and they needed 100 cars for that day. I think 70 paid, and FOCOA picked up the remainder.

I will easily sign up if it comes down to the wire, so pencil me in (I dont want to waste the paypal fees if it doesnt happen).
BTW, I dont REALLY want to go, because there are alot of places on the street I can do these things. The trip through hell is a really fun drive, I mean really fun. Straight line speed can be found on many of the nearly abandoned parts of expressway up here. There are plenty of great places to drive, and race on streets here in Michigan if you know where to go. Heck, if your into drifting and street racing, I have some really fun (and safe) spots for that too.

I'm sorry to hear it may not happen. I am not able to participate, because I assume that my minor oil leaks will not pass inspection. I assume they don't want any oil on their track. I hope you get more sign-ups soon.

My dad and I wanted to do it, but our car is still not put back together, so simply making the trip to Pontiac will be a miracle. We don't want to push it when it's just been put back together. The other car we're bringing isn't allowed on the track lol. And besides, we'd have to pay $100 each and we're both pretty broke as it is. We're sad we can't do it but we just can't afford the money/risk.
I hope you get more sign ups! I can talk to my dad again and see, but I doubt we can do it.
