At the 25th Anniversary, there might be a few clubs with nametags, but for the rest of us, how will everyone know who is who? Would it be completely dorky to have the "Hi, my name is..." nametags?
Or a simple JScott1 = Proud1, Proud1 = Jonathan, Tall dark and handsome guy = Jscott1, etc. might help a few figure out who is who

I wear the same thing every year, and I still look about the same
RAREW66 said 'hi' to me a couple years ago at a Michigan show and I felt like such an ass for not recognizing him.
Have talked to Wingnut and paced84 at a couple shows, and a few other forum members. At the 20th I saw a dozen or so cars I knew from the forum, but had no idea who the owners were. It would also help if I wasn't so horrible with names and faces.
I am wondering if the name tag engraver guy is going to be there? (Sounds like a Bud commercial.) I had one made at the 20th for me and MRS. GTGeff. We will be wearing them.
You may also know me by my car, "The Stinger" or my 88 red GT. Jeff
DH....I'll talk to you and I promise to be civil if you are.
Looking forward to seeing old friends,& making new ones. Jeff
I hope I get some V8 guys to actually talk to me without too large of a bias... Internet /= real life.
I'll be the first to buy you a drink if you are a nice person.
I know many people who in real life are great people, but they get behind the keyboard and like to cause trouble. I think it's just a hobby for them. But some are also jerks in real life too. There are all kinds in the real world.
If I get a name tag I will wear it.

We simply assumed you'd be the one in the space suit.
I was actually going to fashion some sort of name tag for myself that included my Pennocks name too. Figured on putting a tag on my car too. I guess that makes me a dork?
My real name is Gary. I often sign posts with my name, but it can be hard to know who is who on here!

No name tags for me, low profile all the way, I don't want anyone knowing I "might" be in the area. Who knows who might be reading this or actually there. They see the name tag and WHAM, they gotscha!

I'll be hanging with Ron. No one knows what I look like....
I'll be the guy in the red Fiero, Spookything will be in his blue fiero this time
The mrs. & myself bought name tags at the 20th also, just have to remember to bring them. I'll probably be the only maroon 87 GT from Ontario with a 3400 installed. Right beside me should be a maroon 87SE that my dad & myself have been cleaning up for a month for him to drive to the show.

Actually, it is. Everything you post on the internet was done by you in real life. It's just as real as talking on the phone or over radio or video conference. It's just another method of communication. You should expect to be treated the way you treat people, be that in person or on the internet.

True. The Internet would be a friendlier place if everyone treated their on-line contacts with the same respect as they would face to face. However, I often find people to be nicer in person than on-line. Maybe it's fake and people are speaking their true minds on the internet?

I have trouble communicating tact VIA emoticons and posts I make at 2am... or after I had a sour phone conversation, ect, and its hard for someone with a lot of ideas to NOT come across as a know-it-all on forums also. I also think that "arguing" on forums is more of an internet only thing, and anyone creating opinions for someones differing views VIA posts on the internet, is a bit of a stretch. I may not think the same way, or agree on things with friends of mine in person, but people that disagree with you on the internet seem to be written off very quickly as a person with any decent qualities.
I'll be the one that almost everyone knows but almost nobody recognizes. AFAIK, there's only one picture on the forum that has me in it, and I'm not telling where it's at.
JazzMan
I take that as a challenge...when I get home I'm going to immediately post up a big glossy photo of you.
