Has anybody ever seen this fiero before ??

I tried to find this car a couple years ago with no luck. Might as well give it another try to see if i can jog some memories. Any of you west coast guys recognize the car or the owner ??

His name was John Mantikas. The car was featured in an old, old issue of sport compact magazine.

Just asking cause i wanted to see more pictures of this car and get the low down on the wheels and the suspension. That thing is loooooooooow, i love it !

The writeup mentions the Suspension Techniques Kit, but that car is lower than any fiero i have ever seen.

That Fiero also has its front wheels in a gutter on a cut curb... I don't think the front would look as low if it was on flat ground... its cool to see good press for the car in magazines.

ditto that. i would do this with pics of my cars to make them appear lower in front.

that is a slick tire/wheel setup tho. i looove dark wheels with deep, polished lips tucked neatly under the wheel well.

that whole car is making me rethink drilling my wingless decklid for the wing i had tucked away.
if you ever find the owner and get more pics, please post them!

never seen or heard of it over here, wish I had, that is a fabulous Fiero!

I know there is a guy from the Chicago area. He has a red GT that he has hydro on it for no other reason then to be able to drive it. When he parks the car it almost sits on the body.

That is exactly what I want my fiero to squat like when I drop it. Damn that is low, but I think the dip in the street helps the visual effect alot because the car FieroGTRwideboby posted looks just as low. Damn fieros are so sick.

This is the famous (but never seen) DVLISH from RaceTech in Toronto, Ontario.

That beautiful hood is hanging on display...

Sorry guys but that first fiero in the newspaper cliping isn't the same one I have above. I remember seeing that picture years and years ago. All I can say, their is no way lowering springs will drop a car that low. trust me I tried, my car " DVLISH " has coil overs all around, thats the only way I can get it to sit that way, plus thats the hight I drive the car at, I can go lower but then the tire will rub in the wheel well. Hey I just got a thought, I can remove some inner wheel well plastic, shave a bit of the fender lip and tuck the wheel a bit... yaya.....

Thanks

Hi Roger, what year was that in Carlie ? 1999 or 2000.... That year I drove in 8.5 hours of rail from Toronto to PA. arrived Friaday afternoon, woke up Saturday cleaned the car rolled into the show, began setting up my car for display and went to register for the Fiero show by 11:am and the people holding the show said I was late for registration... aaarrrr.... I was so pissed, I tor down the display packed everything in the car and was ready to leave back to Toronto... Some fellow Fiero owners called me down, I ended staying the day and when I left Sunday morning, I never came back to the Fairgrounds again... I tell you it was a wet weekend and cold.

The DVLISH photo is one of Old Lar's photos from Carlisle 2000. The hood graphic is one of the best I've seen on a Fiero. I recall the car also had a really nice engine in it.

Work listing:

John Mantikas
503 Harker St
San Pedro, CA 90731-2101
(310) 519-0422
Job title: President
Company: Southwest Coatings

Home listing:

John A Mantikas
564 Shepard St
San Pedro, CA 90731-7135
Age: 45-49
Household: George M Mantikas, Wendy K Hubbard

Have you tried contacting him to see where the car is now? Being the CEO/President of a powder coating company, it fits that he would have the money, knowledge, and time to do an extreme custom job like that. A lot of large powder coating companies specialize in tubular frames, and frame-off restos, so that makes me think that this is the correct John Mantikas. I'd give that number a call and see if it's the right guy, and if so, see what he knows about the car. What's the worst that can happen, he says "no it's not me, and don't ever call me again!"?
Or if you want, I'll call him for you. I'm very outgoing, and have been known to call 40+ numbers in a directory listing just to find the right person.

Funny i got his address (old one possibly) a few years ago and sent him a letter but never got a response. Ironically just yesterday i got an email from a lady asking me if i ever got ahold of him.

Turns out it is his current girlfriend !! She says he sold the fiero a while ago and has since purchased a viper !

She plans to ask him to email me. I have some questions for him, anybody got anything you want me to ask him in particular ?

Yeah, does he want to give me that Viper?

Seriously though thats a nice looking car and Im glad someone is trying to track it down. Maybe the current owner doesnt know about this place yet.

Post as much information as you can about that car if you get the chance to talk to him. Im sure we all want to know just how much that car was lowered and how it was achieved among other things.
Hope to see ya at Daytona.
