We had a great time even though my car decided it did not want to go. The throw out bearing started screaming a few days before the trip so it stayed home and we took the Vette. Gianina took over 200 pictures so I will start on the morning of Blake, Tom and Stephen stopped by for breakfast before we left. I added a few pictures of my car that did not make the trip. I will post more latter as the trip went

As always it was a great trip down, good show with cruise and good to see everyone again. Had a great turnout compared to last year with several new cars and faces. Hope to see all the same faces at the Ruckus plus some of the familiar faces that didn;t make it this trip. Look forward to seeing everyone at the Ruckus!!!!!!!!!!
No pictures to post as I don't ever carry a camera anymore.
Thanks to:
F355Spider/Wife for a good breakfast Blakeinspace for setting up the road trip down San Antonio group for putting on a good event.

Pics look great! I will try and post the pics Allison took from the show. For her first Fiero event she had a great time. Thanks to AAFO for putting on a great show! This was my first RoundUp. I also have to thank Revin for coming out late at night to bring parts and supplies to help out another Fiero owner. Without his help, I never would have made it past Austin. Even with my car leaking green fluid, I was still able to make the show and look good. Thanks all for making this a memorable experience! I met some old friends and made new ones. I hope to see you all again!

Great pictures and looks like AAFO outdid themselves again. Couldn't make it--working with the plumbers on my house all weekend, and will start moving some of my stuff tomorrow, if the carpet is in.
Regarding Ruckus. I spoke with Blake a little yesterday late. I'll take '09 or 2010 if no one else steps up, tho I think it is unfair to the rest of the state to hold it in the same area twice in a row. (I am less than 65 miles from Lufkin--where Ruckus '07 was held). If JScott wants it in Galveston, I will help--assuming the island is back up and running--since he got beat out of it by hurricane Ike. Jane was down there a few weeks ago, and said the beaches were open but many businesses still under repair. Further south--Padre Island/Corpus would give The Valley Boys a chance to have a shorter drive. But, I'll throw my hat in the ring for either '09 or 2010 if no one else has spoken for Ruckus. Considering I have not even been in attendance in quite a while, (2005 was my last one) I figure I am last on the totem pole to even have a say in the matter, but LMK.

I personally have not been to the island since Ike so I can't speak to the readiness to support a Ruckus. I have heard conflicting stories, so I would like to take a trip down there and see for myself. If the island is capable of hosting the event, I would like to have the opportunity to host Ruckus 09 there.
Given that I still have many repairs at my house, it wouldn't surprise me if there were many businesses under repair. On the other hand, it might be easier to book a group there given the state of the economy.

We went to the Galveston Island in Feb. We had a time finding a place that was open to eat. I know a lot of the resteraunts have reopened. My grandson is still there and we get updates often. They will bust their tails to be open for the dollars in the crowds hands.

This is true...we are talking about an event in October by the way...AFTER the busy summer season. It might not be as pretty as you remember it, but it certainly has to be in better shape after 6 more months of repairs.

I know a lot of people would like to have sand introduced into the Ruckus scene ... I reckon most would be happy to have Galveston this year or next. Don's is really busy right now... but said here in month give or take, he'd like to go down to the island to see how things are progressing. Based on what he, JScott, and the other LSF/GTriangle members discover will determine if we can have R8 in Galveston. If the island hasn't recovered sufficiently, we'll just make R9 known that it is Galveston. I think we all knew after Ike stole that area's priviledge, that y'all would get first right of refusal.
I know 6 months will pass quick, but Ruckus regulars can wait until everything is looked at.

Duly noted! Last indeed... I feel like popular demand forced it on y'all! Take care of that major life change you've got going on... and get back to us as you can. I take it as a great sign of health that so many are anxious to already know about it. It should make organizers excited to know it will be well attended, and previous hosts proud that they helped keep the tradition alive!
Now this thread is about our most excellent adventures in SA... so sorry about my long winded post, but I will try to make up for it by posting some pics below!
I wasn't at Roundup, so I don't know what was discussed or suggested, but I was hoping you would still be interested JScott--& ya certainly deserve another shot after all the early leg work you did last year. Maybe hurricane season will be kinder to Texas this year. If you need/want some help or anything, lmk. I have a truck & trailer, and should have lots of spare time by the middle of summer and afterwards.

My car was thirsty... a stop at the Dr. Pepper bottling plant in Dublin cured it. Dublin DP is special, as that it uses pure cane sugar as opposed to corn syrup... It is sooooooooo good.
Next photo is taken in the Willow City Loop... it was disappointing that no Texas native flowers were on display, but Rob and Scott later told me that the area was in sever drought, and the bonnets require some fall and spring rain before they show off... Still a gorgeous drive though.
On the Ruckus cruise, I got a shot of Ken & Heidi enjoying the twisties... that road sign... that was a common occurence for our cruise... Great Job Scott Anderson for making a memorable road route... and guiding us fairly safely home that night
Shot of Revin and kenscircus... you can see Revin's whaletail and the nice stance it gives that car...
Shot overlooking Medina Lake. Maybe next years calendar photo?
Brother Revin on the roll... wish I got more of the car...
