I think that looks a lot nicer compared to say:

(not bashing that car, at all)

Has anyone brought the lights down a bit and recessed them into the bumper on their car?

Someone is doing this with 300ZX headlights. i dont like them that low. They dont look right to me and also are getting very close to violating DOT height standerds.

That'd take a lot of fab work considering what lies beneath the front fascia. I seem to remember someone doing something similar and someone else stating that their state laws prohibited the modification of the factory bumper or something.

I don't mind that look, but when I first saw the pic I thought it was an old Firebird or Trans Am, lol.

Yeah, they looked a little low, so I tried them not so far down the bumper.

I still think the first photoshop of the white GT looks awesome.

Looks similar to the Chev Monza from the 70's (I had one). http://h-body.org/index.html
The Monza was one of GMs first cars with the "new" rectangular headlights.
The styling was later "recycled" to the 80's 3rd Gen Camaros.

Had one. A 1979 Monza Spyder as pictured above. I had a "real" 350 V8 4-speed in it. Sold it when I bought the 87 GT in 1990.

Whats thew next stage from the cardboard cut outs.
would you use this as a tamplate to make a metal one , the same size as the cardboard?

The cardboard is a mockup to give me an idea on how it ill look. The next step I'm doing is remaking the pieces in Massonitte, to be used as a form for a fiberglass piece. I will also mold/vacuum form a polycarb/lexan cover for them. So far it has been a challenge and there are still a few items to work out. I'm also stuck because I need the new front fascia and the deal I had worked out fell thru.
