I thought I would start a thread where everyone who bought Fiero Geo-Coins could post their Geocaching name and a link their personal stats page. That way we could follow all of the coins that people send out. My Geocaching name is the same as here....DL10, and my stats page is http://www.geocaching.com/profile/
I have activated my first coin. Here is the tracking number TB2ZHCG if you wish to add it to your watch list.
It is named, "Thanks Cliff - Fiero Geocoin, By Captain Kenton"
This is the note that will accompany my geocoin. A good stash note can help keep your coin safe. I set my word processor program to use 1.5 inch columns so that it will fit inside of the pouch. After I printed it I cut out the words and laminated it with packing tape.
quote
“Thanks Cliff” Property of Captain Kenton
Move often to safe caches. Take photos of it with your Pontiac Fiero, favorite car, favorite road, or interesting road sign.
Mission – Tour North America until November 2011 then travel to the Netherlands where it will be presented as a gift to Cliff Pennock.

We just started last year, and I found a few around 50 or so. We have two caches we hid for people to find. Most of our finds have been around the St. Louis area but we have found them at the Grand Canyon and other State Parks.
To be honest I bought 12 thinking that a few are going to disappear into someones collection, but I hope not. I'm not sure how I want to set these out. Maybe create multi-cache to find it and give one away to the first person to find it and send another on it's way.

i'm currently bidding on the one in the Mall, and geocaching sounds like it would be something fun to do
EDIT: would like to add that i plan on keeping mine if i get one and it will travel to any and all car-shows and wherever my Fiero may travel to as i plan on eventually buying an RV and wandering the country eventually

Edit: The cache that I put it in has vanished along with the coin. I just sent the cache owner a pm. Hopefully he will check on it soon.
Update: The owner of the geocache said that a fire had gone through the area so he has not been able to check on it for a while.
Update: I have received word that my coin is safe! That particular geocache had not been found for months when I placed the coin in August. Amazingly, another geocacher retrieved it the same day but had not logged it until just recently. He said that he would send it on it's way soon.

Of the original order way back when, I bought 5: I gave all but one of mine away to Fiero ppl as gifts. My remaining coin is here on my desk. --sent one to my Secret Santa name, one I sent to Tyler Shipman, the other 2 went to members I would prefer not to mention.
