I am long hauling the PowerTour again this year in the silver Turbo car. Anyone else heading out?
Always wanted to, always had either something else I had to do or couldn't afford to go. Regardless, how about posting the route. Never know who might show up.

Cold in Madison for day 1. The rain came around 3:00. The drive to Racine "officially" starts about 09:00 when leaving from Madison and driver's meeting. But you can leave from whatever hotel you are at whenever you want.
Lots of cars...

kind of sad that gm pulled out of the sponsorship. i work at the tech center, in the perf. group and was going to be on the "motor medic" for the second half, from warren to bristol. govt. did not like it so management put a stop to anything for the tour. kind of depressing for us gm techs who are car people. the city of warren are having a show at city center ( 12 & van dyke) across from gm tech center, and there is a bowling alley just north of 13 mile on the west side of van dyke that is having a show also. they usually get several hundred cars on their own. should be alot happening around the area on tuesday.

I totally forgot about this until we stumbled upon the massive gathering of cars in Racine yesterday! Hah. We browsed for a while but left before heading out near the water. If you saw a pearl white Bonnevill GXP or a lowered Red 2005 Sunfire that was us .
If you happen to talk to the guy with the first generation Cavalier Z24's (if he is going the whole trip) tell him the guy he knows (Mark) from the Pardeeville car shows with the Beretta says "hi!"
Yup,thats my IMSA.What a suprise,I got there about 1PM and only stayed for about 3 hours because of the weather. But boy did that car get a lot of attention, one guy even wanted to buy it.What a hoot to get on the HRPT website.

I was flipping through the channels this evening and one of the news stations was covering the tour up in Dayton. They were showing somebody wiping their blue fastback and then they brief spoke with him for a minute or so. Good looking car, didn't recognize it or the owner.

The Power Tour has so many cars in the "show". Many are not really "hot rods" but lots of unusual cars, trucks etc. Since there have been lots of photos of the Fieros on the tour, I'm posting the different or unusual cars on the tour.
Edsel wagon
At union Grove drag strip, this little truck with the aerodynamics of a phone booth did the quarter mile in 13 seconds..a real sleeper
59 Chevy
Superbird..I don't know why I like them.
VW camper van
Several "rat rod" trucks.
A right hand drive VW bug chopped. I figure only a miget could get into this thing.
At the Somerset venue, I got to park along the road and sat under cover while it rained.
A 1950s Plymouth wagon at Bristol could do impressive burnouts.
