Forgive me if this has been done before, but it occured to me that this might be interesting.

How about a series of "Then and Now " photos of your Fiero?

What did your car look like "then"?
What does it look like "now"?

Not looking for any build threads, or lengthly explanations of everything done to your car, just a very simple "before and after" kind of thing with a single photo showing your Fiero when you first got it and a single photo showing what it looks like today.

I know with many of your Fieros, the difference is probably striking with lots of modifications and changes.
Some that are being maintained in "stock" condition might be the same, better or, god forbid, worse..
Some may not have changed at all.

I'll start this off with my meager contribution:

THEN:

Not exactly following the rules here but I can play a bit.

The day I bought it. 1984 Fiero. June 15 2001.

A week before it was to be crushed (on the left), Feb 2009.

I haven't owned my Formula long enough to do a before and after with it...

This thread is probably going to generate a lot of traffic back to some build threads...
While the build threads are great, this thread is demonstrating vividly and simply what I hoped it would.
It's amazing how much, or how little, some of the cars have changed.
The photos are probably going to provoke a lot of questions from new PFF members that might not have seen these cars before, as well as some, (like me), that might not have paid the attention to them we should have before...

With that in mind, (and as some of you guys have already done), I'm going to add that you should add a link to your build thread(s) below your "Then" and "Now" photos if you have them.
Just title it: "How it Happened:" below your photos and then list the link(s).
.....if you want to

Well, I'm going to play too. I found the car at the 08 Daytona show, and managed to put an interior in it by the 09 show. Motor and suspension coming soon, and paint after that.

Here's the car when I picked it up a week after the show:

And here's the car a year later with new interior:

I sometimes wonder if any GM Execs. ever cruise through PFF, and say 'Darn!! If we had had some of the vision, skill and determination shown by these talented 'ordinary' guys here, we could have been sailing high instead of bailing high now'...Truly sad that the Fiero was scrapped, whether in favour or not of the Corvette. Just look at what these guys have done to their cars!! Vision, ability and MORE vision.
Great thread Randye..wish my Fiero was more along the lines of what has been done to these cars...but I love it anyway 4 years I have owned her, and she has only ever let me down once, 3 weeks after I bought her...ignition sensor was all it was. This car should have been nurtured, and spoiled and pampered, IMHO. It stands out even now in the Spanish supermarket carparks, amongst all the hot hatches and tweaked Golfs, Peugeots, Renaults etc etc. I always get a crowd of ' Boy Racers' around her when I come back from shopping

DougC, it's painted. It started life with the usual gray interior you see in just about every Fiero. I went back together stock, but sometime I'm going to be swapping in a dash and console.

OK,I found a couple of photos, one as she was before I started to paint her in my dusty, dirty old 'workshop'...

and how it turned out, fresh from the spraygun without even being buffed or polished

I don't have a good enough photo for now of how she looks since I fitted another, different to original Fiero wing, but maybe today
Nick
OK, randye..sorry Took the opportunity to 'conform' by removing all but the first, and replacing the last with a photo taken this morning at 6:00am with the sun just coming up, and the new spoiler/wing fitted:

I have a REQUEST to make of everyone.

Could you see fit to edit your posts to show just 2 photos of your car please?

I was hoping to keep the "Then & Now" thread just to 2 simple photos of each car.
1. When you first got it
2. What it looks like today

I know we are all tempted to show all the details of the hard work we have accomplished, but that's what the build threads are for.
Adding more than the 2 photos tends to dilute the intended impact of each posting and it would eventually just turn this thread into a series of "mini build threads".
Obviously, that wasn't the original intent.

I am requesting this from everyone that posts to this thread.

I ask everyone that wishes to direct viewers to their build threads with more details and photos to place the caption "How it happened:" below the 2 photos and give the link(s) to their individual build threads below that caption. This will help keep this thread from becoming too "cluttered" and should increase traffic back to the individual build threads as well.

I fully realize that you all have the right to do as you wish, and I'm thrilled at the response to the idea of this thread so far.
I'm simply requesting that you all help in keeping the thread on track please.

You may now commence throwing rocks at me if you wish....just don't hit the car!

THANK YOU Curley!
PERFECT!
I was hoping you would jump in on this, and nothing says DRAMATIC like those last 2 photos!
(Not to take anything away from the others posted here already...)
It's really cool to see "wrecks" turned into great cars and "great" cars turned into *fantastic* cars in just 2 simple photos.

Even if your fantastic car turned into a wreck, please don't hesitate in posting those too.
This isn't about the "best" or the "worst"...it's simply about "Then" and "Now"

If you turned a wreck into a great or fantastic car and then back to a wreck....well, go ahead and post 3 photos, ("Then", "After" and "Now")
That seems only fair.

Williegoat, what shade of red is that? And what rims are those? That is a great looking car.

Randye, I edited my addition to this thread down to 2 pics. Sorry about having more than 2pics.
