Jimmy that would be a good deal. The only problem is I want yellow carbon fiber and alot of my faceplates have cracked corners so I'm currently look for replacements as well.

I was sorta thinking about doing this for one of our cars since I did window wipers in the carbon fiber look and license plates surrounds... not sure if that's going to be too much or not since I'm not too crazy about patterned anything (like original carpeting... ugh) ... may try out the dot matrix surrounds first... only problem is I don't have aux. gauge face plates in dot matrix since they didn't make them, but I do have the face plate left over from my 88 install in grey/black marble I could use... shrug... haven't decided yet...

?? I had them in my 88GT. They are now in my son's 87. What do you mean they didn't make the aux gauges in dot matrix? Or am I just not fully awake this morning and mis-read what you were meaning?

No, you read it right, and I had my facts confused, I was thinking of the dark silver surrounds that only came in the 84's that didn't have the aux. gauges, so you couldn't find one to match the rest of the set... not the dot matrix ones... and I just thought that cause my 88 also didn't have the aux. gauges, so didn't have the dot matrix surround on them...
So sorry... just disregard, was just trying to be helpful with the carbon fiber sheeting... lol
i saw on a build thread where sombody got a real sheet of aluminum "peel and stick" (not a sticker) covering at Lowes for next to nothign (under $20?) and coverd his guages with it. It sounds cheesy but actually it looked pretty good and as long as you clean everything, apply it correctly and TAKE YOUR TIME trimming it, it should last for a very long time. I can only assume that there are others (carbon fiber, machined aluminum, etc, etc) avalable and would all do the same trick. If you can do it yourself it would be very cheep. Heck, i've been playing with sticker since i was a little kid! Not to put anybody elses method down, far from it. I'm sure those offering to do it are using different materials and have the skills needed. I'm just throwing out an opinion/option, be nice. newB.
