Actually sorry man. It was late last night for me, and I think that I am battling a bug. I misread your post. After the bit of history that we got, I am glad that you saw that I was not bashing you.
peace,
Tony

Stickers like the one on your window are fine. There not race car parts sponsor decals like ricers use. My Dodge would look just as ridiculous with the front fenders plastered with Nascar stickers.
Like I said, I wasnt sure about the Porsche racers/ street cars. I dont do that much stuff for that dealership. Go to a Ford dealer and order a Mustang - R spec racer and see if you can drive it on the street legally. Can you yes, can you buy tags or insurance for it No.

Well, crap. All this time, I was a ricer, and didn't know it.
hehe
For what it's worth, some of the race cars have usable downforce at speeds as low as 60-70MPH. Granted, those are purpose-built race cars. But it just goes to show that you don't need to go stupid-fast to get aerodynamic downforce. You just need efficient aerodynamics.

Body parts are body parts. You seem to want to just ignore the point. Can you get tags for a car with no VIN? No, of course not. Can you get insurance? Yes. Will it cover being driven on the street, and someone dinging your doors at the local boozery? Probably not. But either way, it's just money. And if you've got enough money, you can do whatever you want with it. Just because you can't buy a pre-built GTC from Ferrari, that is street legal, doesn't mean you can't buy the GTC and the street car both, and mix parts together to make a car that is street legal, with the race trim.
It's no different than swapping parts from any other car into a Fiero to customize it. It's no different from any aftermarket kits from Hamann, or anyone else. The simple fact is, it can be done.
If I could afford a 360 or 430, I would try to get the GTC trim for it. Whether you like it or not. I, nor anyone else who would do the same, is trying to please you. And if you don't have enough cash to buy 2 Ferraris, you don't have enough to afford one, anyway.

Sweet, that means I'm gunning for that one too.
There is so much good and bad that I could say about wings on various cars, but I feel it'll be in vain so I'll refrain. I will say that the rebody from the first post looks ridiculous with that wing, and almost all of the supercars posted look sexsah as hell with the wings, and more importantly, they're functional.

Exactly! While the wing on that kit looks like crap as is, the simple fact that there is a wing isn't exactly the problem. The problem is that it's mounted too high, at the wrong angle, and isn't wide enough to fit the body.

The Aldino looks much better to me without the rice 'style' wing. Although I think that kit is designed with it from the start. If you look at one creatively, there are styling cues from everything, 308, 328, 348, Testa Rosa, 288 GTO.....................
Do ' I ' call added on aluminum wings and 20 stickers rice ......... yep. Im entitled to think what I want. If you like it on your car, its yours to do what YOU like. Will I laugh at it if I see it drive by....yep. A wing on the Fiero in itself is not rice, it was designed to be with or without it. In Fieros case, the wing adds more to the rear end which I think is a bit chopped off. While I prefer them without, they look just as good with. My Fiero GT had the stock wing....my Ferrari kit had only the factory style roof spoiler that half of 308/328s were produced with. Sprint car wings are efficient at less than 100 mph, but there the size of a garage door. Decals dont do a thing except get you contingency money at the race track. or impress other ricers.
OP asked if rice wings should be on Ferrari........I say no. And as far as my own taste, the 550 Marenello is the only attractive Ferrari they made since 355. F50, Enzo, 360 and the rest are ugly as hell.
JMHO.

From rear-wheel-drive race cars! Not sure WHY they think it will benefit their front-wheel-drive ricer...
yeah, because it's not like a front-wheel-drive car would ever need traction at the rear, right? Wings are only meant to add traction to the driving wheels because we all just travel in a straight line. FWD race- and rallycars only have them to make them look cool, right?
My butt is probably way off telling me that the rear of my FWD DD gets pretty light at speed. And I am probably wrong in saying that a properly designed rear wing/spoiler would add the stability it currently lacks.

Note the metal ricer style stanchions on the gold Fiero, at first I did not like however after seeing the car several times, it kinda works. The wing remains in a semi level state. The white chop top in the background also has a modified wing that is raised then the tips of the wing have been extended and suits the car fairly well with the chopped roof line.
As to the original picture, if the engine was modified enough to warrant a big wing at speed sure I say keep it on, however unless the car can do 150mph or better I say lose the wing.
Does anyone have more pictures of the chop top, or any other car with a simmilar wing?
