The previous owner relocated the battery to the trunk(?)
I already tore the interior apart

Its about time you joined the big boys with a fastback nice score dude. ..... You got the wrong transmission it in though
What do you mean? It has the Getrag 5-speed in it. There is no auto kick-down cable on the TB (only one black cable from cruise control), and you only see one of the shifter cables from up top.
But yea, nice project 87GT!

Nice... That is like my first GT I got back in 1998. So, what are your plans..?? SmoothGT
Nothing outrageous. The usual black paint, black rims, black 2 tone interior(?), etc. Its gonna look like any old black Fiero. I need to paint the plenum and valve covers asap, so I picked up some paint today.... BLACK!

So that's the car you've been talking about eh? Looks good.
Just be cautious of painting the interior trim and upholstery black. I've watched three people ruin three different car interiors that way (I was the first). Do things the right way, it costs less down the road. Black carpet's cheap, and black fabrics also if you can get them wholesale. Here's a black interior that I did back in the day when I was about your age (I had just replaced all of the nasty painted stuff):
So far, I've got the entire plenum and front valve cover off. I plan on finishing the compression test and then removing the heads for rebuild. Somebodys looking at my VW for sale though, so I may need to rush through this a bit... I started the stripping process on the plenum and valve cover. That aircraft stripper is insane! It also hurts like hell! Also, my headliner is almost done getting glassed.
