I've been talking to this person over the last year about his mod for Grand Theft Auto. He has a lot on his plate right now but when he releases this, it will be awesome. His detailing is incredible. Do not skip through this video or you will miss all of his mods.

My god it's beautiful. That is detailed to the T. The interior and everything it PERFECT.
I know I know. I can't wait for that. I've been waiting so long. lol You let him know if he needs file hosting for it I'll gladly let him use my server as a mirror.
I'm desperately hoping it makes it into Forza Motorsport 4. It just seems like the perfect game for a Fiero to be involved in. I'd love to see the 88' GT in there and then being able to modify it with all the different upgrades. I was disappointed to hear it had a chance to make it into the third Forza as an add-on but missed out on the chance by being 'out voted' by something else.
Don't fret, there were other cars in the vote that were supposed to get in that didn't - specifically, the Omni GLHS, and wasn't there a Starion or something that was meant to be in too?

I seem to remember having driven a Fiero in Need for Speed 3, but I don't recall if it was an add-on I downloaded somewhere or not. It was like 13 years ago.

It was a mod. You're not crazy. I remember it well. It was for NFS 3 Hot Pursuit and was a Fiero fastback. You could use the color slider to select whatever color you wanted to have the car. Who every made it actually had the real Fiero interior shot (remember, this was a standard bitmap image) when you went into the interior view with working steering wheel. It was actually rather good for as long ago when it was released (indeed, about thirteen years ago or so...) and considering how blocky the cars in the game looked.

That was the Fiero from Need For Speed High Stakes. I just installed the game and the mod but the car actually looks like crap so it is now uninstalled

I actually found the mod. It was for Hot Pursuit 2 and the irony of the whole thing is that the same guy that I posted in the Youtube video above made this mod. Notice the name on the bottom? I think he used the same texture file for his GTA mod.

Sure, why not? It seriously short listed the Jalopnik comp before somehow Fiero support disappeared, could have made it onto the list proper. The fact it was even suggested would hint that it was a possibility in the first place.

I don't see what Jalopnik or a Fiero being in a game, has to do with it "actually being a racing game."

I was answering the OP. Has there been any racing games with a Fiero in it? No, there has not. And FM4 is the most likely one to receive one any time soon. Yes, you can mod one into NFS, but it's not by default. And yes, you can mod one into GTA, but it's not really a racing game.

Ok. Misread your post then. It read more like sarcasm with you implying there's no such thing as an actual racing game at all.

I just downloaded the DeLorean add on last night for Forza 3. It looks pretty neat and is a fun car to modify mechanically. Speedo maxes out pretty quick after the engine modifications.
My friend and I have discussed the differences between Gran Turismo and Forza and we believe that GT is a bit dull by comparison since it focuses only on simulating a driving experience, which isn't really possible because it is a game after all and cannot simulate all aspects of driving. Though the graphics are excellent. Forza is more focused on fun and maximising what you can get out of a racing game instead of making it 100% realistic.

Yeah the DeLorean is a bit of a hoot. If you want to cause ruckus online, paint it some gaudy colour before racing it in multiplayer
As for racing simulator vs racing game, they have to keep it accessible. If they went the full on simulator route, the game wouldn't be nearly as much fun for nearly as many people - they'd isolate huge amounts of their userbase. That applies to Forza and Gran Turismo alike.
Not to mention that a simulator isn't a game to be played with a controller... most people don't really want to pay for a triple-screen setup with a race frame and Fanatec wheel/pedals/shifter setup... it all adds up real quick!

Just had a chance to install the Fiero mod for Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. The next 2 pics are rotating which is why the 1st looks a little more "blocky":
The car is very smooth. When taking a snapshot, it freezes the frames which is why the Fiero looks a little rough around the edges:
