That was the point, I always thought that there was more of a differance than that between the 86 & the 88. Is the differance on the inside?

The 88's have a larger gas tank, larger brakes, and a different suspension than the 86's do. Some 86's also have 4 speed manual transmissions, while all 88 manual trans cars are 5 speeds.

87GT's also have the larger gas tank and 5 speed manual trans came out in late 86. Due to the different suspension, the 88GT's have different front rims also.
