I'm just wondering about our fellow forum members who at one time, log'd in and shared a sentence or two who have now passed-away. What do you think was the person (s) contribution toward your Fiero that you have learned from?
1. In Style? 2.Modifications (hoods, vents, choptop ect...)? 3. Engine? 4. How many do you personally known who have passed away? 5. Although, the memory lives on, what about their cars? Was it passed along to someone who cares about the Fiero?
I'm just wondering. No flame-Wars intended or to open-up old wounds.

I belive Tim's son got the cars? Another one I remember was Archie's friend, Webor (mis-spelled). The guy who got the hood vents going and the chop. From talking to Archie, his wife got the car and later on Archie and someone else who loves the Fiero got it now? Maybe I'm as to who actually has it.
I remember someone else who's car was to be featured in a mag, and the person died before he was able to read it. (might be the same person)?

As long as what they posted is out there in cyberspace, it's sorta like a bit of inmortality. There will always be new generations to discover what they did and remember their contributions.

I would guess, Curls, that you're talking about Jack Ditter's car. Jack did one of the first N* conversions. The car was featured in Hot Rod, along with John Norman's Obsession. Sadly, Jack didn't live to see the article. I was told that he went out to the garage to look at the car, and had a heart attack and died. Later that afternoon, his copy of that issue was delivered in the mail. You could ask the St. Louis people for verification on that, as Jack was from the St. Louis area. But he and John Norman pioneered the N* conversion which is so popular today.

Man, thats sad. What ever happen to Jack Ditter's car? Does his car live-on in someone else's garage? What about the "Purple Pavement Eater" who has that car now?

Jack's car was passed on to his son. I know that it was for sale, and I think someone eventually bought it...I'm not sure, that was just a rumor that I had heard. I haven't seen it for quite a while now, so I'm not sure of it's whereabouts. Archie had the Purple Pavement Eater for a while, but I believe he sold that, too.

That's Rich Warber inventor of the Warber hood. Rich was a long time member of NIFE and, in honor of his memory and many contrabutions to the Fiero community (the hood was only one), NIFE has an award at our clubs Fierorama car show every year named after Rich. Although I met Rich pretty late in the game, I did talk with him at several shows and can tell you he was a good guy and certainly a credit to the Fiero community. His car always amazed everyone and definitely helped beat back any bad rep the Fiero has/had. Rich was an avid racer all his life and he knew his cars well. I didn't know him as well as some of the other NIFE board members or Archie but I miss him and his car at the shows we all attend together where he was always there, ready to talk cars.

I was calling the Fiero Store today about some items I wanted to get. They tell me that another member has passed away from the New England Fiero club. I don't know his name.

I don't recieve New Englands info however, the Mid-Atlantic Fiero Onwners in association with New England Fiero Owners lost a fellow member last year. He name is Bob Ruscoe, a Fiero owner. I didn't know the gentalman but he died in 2004. I believe he had a GT FB? Bob's obitury was posted in the monthly or weekly journal in August 2004, I think?
I hope 2005 will be a safe year for all Fiero owners. Please drive safely.
