So a while back I asked if Rent to Own was a good idea... well Sara and I talked with her uncle (a realitor) and he found this little gem for us. Its a 4 year lease rent to own. Rent is 1200/mo and 600 goes into account that at the end of our lease we can use to put down as down payment on the house.

The house is on 1.5 acres, its 1200sqft, fenced yard, 3+ car garage, 2 out side pens for animals, 2 bed rooms, 1 huge bath, and a 4 room finished basement. We are on well water, propane... we only pay electricity and trash pick up to the city... We sign the lease Friday.

What do you guys think? I love it and so does she.

Best part has got to be the 3-car garage. So what engine swap are you doing first???

Umm...Dezie.....
Only $600 dollars towards downpayment after four years ? I have never done "rent to own" but that does not seem fair.
By the way, the garage is not big enough for eight Fieros.
Looks like a nice place.

Ok sorry for the confusion, its 600 a month towards the down payment (28800 at the end of the 4 years, in the lease we can walk away after the 4 years as well and take the money weve saved)... I could easily fit 5 or 6 Fieros in there. Its very deep... Ill do measurements, but I’m pretty sure I can.

DAMN $1200 a month? WOW. Our house payment is less than $600 with insurance. The house is around 1500sqft. We dont have as big a a garage or yard, but $1200 OMG.

I do like the looks of it though.

$1200 a month here in CT will get you nothing.

We're paying around $950/month with insurance and taxes included. But we've only got 2200 SqFt. total and about 3/4 acre. I wish I had a second garage.

$1200 /month isn't that bad when half of that is going toward purchasing the house.
