You will have to break it into about 6 or seven parts if you post it on youtube then import it to your myspace page. They only allow about 10 minutes of video per upload. You could keep it in tact if you have access to a server that allows files that large to be posted.

First capture the video onto your computer then edit it for length and content if you need to. I use Windows Movie Maker. It is simple to learn if you haven't already. Depending on how fast your computer is it may take a while to render the raw video into scenes once it is captured. 60 minutes is a lot of video. It could take a long time.

Be careful with the firewire socket on your camera when connecting and removing the cable. I accidentally messed mine up. The repair cost me about $150. Now I am as careful with the cables as a brain surgeon.

When your video is the way you want it save it to your computer. The default location will most likely be in MY DOCUMENTS then look in the MY VIDEOS folder. (I like to use 512 k/sec for the internet. It is not dial-up friendly but the quality will be good).

Then upload it onto the server and copy the address where it can be found. There is a button on youtube for adding videos to your myspace page.

Sounds like it woulda been easier to record it onto your computer using a web cam and saved an extra step. Take everything apart, go to wal-mart, and start over

I think there is another way to do it, I have one of those camcorders with the small tapes too, the littl digital tapes, anyways I bought an 80 dollar conversion part, that let me transfer stuff to my pc, and my friend, same camcorder as me, just got some cord that went strait from his camcorder to his computers usb port, and was able to transfer that way... i dunno how he or what he got tho..

Have you run the setup disk that came with your camera on your computer? It will need to install the new drivers for the camera. If not, do that first before you connect your camera.

Do you have a firewire that you can use to connect to your camera to your computer? If not it won't work. The data transfer will not be fast enough. They are cheapest on ebay. Retail stores will rob you. I had to buy and install a firewire card on my computer when I got my camera. (It is a few years old. It was a hotrod computer when we got it and it still keeps up well but sometimes I have to add new periferals).

This is what the ends of the cable that I use look like.

Also do you have Windows XP? If not you can still use the software that came with your camcorder but it is probably not as user friendly.

If you have a firewire and XP, plug the wire into your camera's socket labeled DV and your computer, then turn on the camera and follow the on screen directions. Again, use great care when connecting the cable to your camcorder. The ports are fragile.

If you have Windows XP go ahead and open windows Movie Maker and you will see that the first function on the list is Capture video from a device. It will give you a choice of devices. If your camera is attached it will let you select it. From there it is a matter of following the instructions on the screen.

Video takes a lot of disk space and an hour-long video will take a while for the program to render it into scenes that you can edit and string together.

I will pm my cell number to you if you would like help when you are ready.

i have a USB cable that i use to get still pics from the camera to the computer.

this is the first time i've used it for recording on tape.
i've had the camera for about 3-4 years now and cant find the owners manual, but i might be able to come up with the setup disks.

I know that i do not have a firewire card in my PC

Firewire cards are certainly cheap enough now. Here is one on special for $8.50(US). Often the cards come with a firewire cable as well, but I'm not sure if that's the case with this one or not.

Without it you will never transfer your video to computer. USB is not a fast enough interface.

This one is currently available on ebay for desktop computers. - (Not mine, just cheap). Everything that you need.

Don't worry about the setup disks if you have already installed the drivers onto your computer. I use the Windows XP Movie Maker and not the software that came with the camera. It was easy to learn. Works well.
