Nathan was and always will be the best friend I have ever had. He passed away last night at the too young age of 24. Nathan had struggled with juvenile diabetes for 7 years. It has been a long road for him and this disease was incredibly mean to him.

While out dirtbike riding, he lost consiousness due to low blood sugar and the high heat. He never regained and died later in the hospital.

Many of you remember the teenage BlackStang that loved to get things riled up around here. Nathan had grown into a caring, kind person that would give anyone the shirt off his back. He was an incredible friend and it's just so hard to deal with his loss. We had been best friends since we were 11 years old and he was so much more than a friend.

Nathan, you will be missed dearly. You were a rare blessing and the world will not be the same.

Ahhh I remember "controversy" back in the day. It's so sad to see people die so young. This was passed onto me when someone close to me passed away by a fellow forum number(fierohoho). Here it is

Death is nothing at all
I have only slipped away into the next room
I am I and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That we are still
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way you always used
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
At the little jokes we always enjoyed together
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effect
Without the ghost of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
There is absolute unbroken continuity
What is death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind?
Because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost
One brief moment and all will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

As a member who has been around awhile, I remember Black Stang.

I am always saddened to see a life cut so short. I wish the best for his family. May he rest in peace.

I´d like to add my name to the comments made above. If there is any consolation to be had from this, it is that the diabetes can no longer cause him stress, pain or sadness.

At least he went out doing something he enjoyed. I remember him posting on the forum. It's a shame he had to die so young. I know you will miss your friend but he will live on in your heart and memories.

I remember him too.
I don't really remember what he posted, but I remember his name.

My condolences for the loss of your friend.
24 is way too young.

My wife has a friend whose sugar bottoms out, unexpectedly. She's had a couple of episodes in the few years that I've known her. Quite frightening.
To the point...
People living with diabetes-- Think. Take a candy bar or a roll of hard candies or a Coke with you. Such a little little thing can save your life.

I'm sorry, Spectrum. Very sorry.
