The government is another 32 billion dollars bigger today, now paid for by even poorer citizens like you and.. (well not me, I dont smoke)

http://www.newsmax.com/news...09/02/04/178392.html

Now mind you, of the children that are covered under this program, 77% already have health care.

And 25 year olds making 40k a year would also be covered, really makes em want to achieve huh?

My mom has had health care for me and my sister and she makes less then 300% fpl, why cant other people?

on a side note the article says this:
"Opponents of the bill also complained that the tobacco tax increase hits the poor the hardest, because they are more likely to smoke than wealthier people. Many also took exception to expanding the program and Medicaid to children of newly arrived legal immigrants. "

really...poor people smoke more?

Also, to me it is ALWAYS the wrong choice to cover ILLEGAL immigtrants with ANY socialist money plans.

Don't worry, you will be paying for it. When people stop buying cigs. they will tax soda, fast food, candy, chips... well, anything they can. The problem is that everyone is saying "well, they are taxing a sin.... good!" The problem is that this will not work. I don't know about others, but I found a job where they have health care as a benefit. Hmm... I actually worked, studied, earned a degree, got a job with benefits. I wouldn't have taken a job without benefits. Gee.... all without the help of the government, go figure.

The problem is that the rest of us our being punished by the Dems. They want to spend our money on projects they believe will help the economy. Well, how is a $1500 tax credit on a new car help the economy, if you can't afford to buy one anyway. What about the rest of us who have car loans and have been making payments? $15K tax credit for those who buy a new home? What about us who have been paying our mortgage all along? (BTW, this was a Rep. idea.... idiots).

Just give me my tax money and let me decide what I want to spend it on. If I want to save it, then so be it. Government needs to stay out of my business.

It USED to be respectable to pay for what you buy. Now we're STUPID is what we are.

No kidding... I am so stupid. I should just tell the mortgage company to get the payment from the Feds. Bypass the middle man.

This is stupid, what happened to being responsible for your actions. I guess that doesn't count in a socialist society.

I believe there are studies that show this, but don't quote me.
