They are about to do another CT scan to check for bleeding in his brain. He is able to move his right leg a little but not his right arm and he hasn't spoken yet. They are telling us that it could be a couple of days until they know what is going on.
Yes, Race, prayers for your dad's speedy recovery. I'm not afraid of much anymore but there are a couple of things. Burning to death and a fully debilitating stroke are a couple of the few. Strokes scare me and is the reason I actually take medication for my blood pressure to keep it under control. Best wishes to your dad and you.
I got word last night that my Dad had a stroke. I missed the last flight to Des Moines but I am here now. He can't talk or move his right yet.
If any of you are willing to say a prayer for a former Fiero owner and great guy, my family would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Kenton
I wish him the best man. I dont know you from adam but my dad suffered a stroke about a month ago today. He is doing okay but I must admit he is not the man he was before.
I will keep you and you family in my thoughts
Bill

Been through this one too with my wife. Not fun.....after the initial I.C.U. stay is over and it's determined what options are available and best to persue, a good attitude is essential to a good recovery. No one can do it for him, but everyone that cares about him can help. Good luck to you and him.........if there's no brain bleed, there's better chances of a full recovery. Too much talk already...........well wishes headed your way..........may God bless.

Thanks again everybody. I spent another day at the hospital. So far he is about the same. The doctor says that he will get an MRI tomorrow morning at 7:30am. We should know more about what is going on after that.
I knew that strokes were bad but until it happens to somebody you are close to it is hard to understand. It is tough seeing somebody who is so capable laying there struggling to get out of bed all day and not really knowing what is going on around him. This is the guy who jeeps, hikes, and has climbed two mountains in the last 3 months. The thought of my dad having stroke never even crossed my mind.
Sending positive thoughts and energy to you and your family. I cannot even imagine being in your position, but I hope for the best and wish for your father to recover completely!

Prayers are already being answered. He is out of ICU and has stood on his legs. Some strength has returned to his right leg already. It is amazing. Hopefully he can get the use of his right hand back soon.
This is a tough thing for him mentally but he has a large support system. We are going to do our best to get him back to 100 percent.
very sorry to hear i will pray for him . stay strong race... he needs encourgement.let him know in your own way that your there for him any way he needs you. best wishes!
