Just an FYI, but I am pretty sure the stuff on the drivers seat is excrement. Could be the moose's, but probably the driver's. Also, check out the mad gangsta lean in the seat. Ouch! Pops was a body shop manager for 35 years. I have seen more than one long legged furry creature stuff itself into a back seat. But, the moose one is new.

on that model the impact sensors are on either side of the Fog lights if memory serves right. it looks like the moose might have bumped the front bumper but the hood and windsheild took the majority of the force of impact. I have seen cars with the engine thrown into the back seat and the airbags never went off but that is usually on older vehicles and the sensors are corroded pretty badly by the raod salt here. however i did see a newer Toyota Tacoma and a Highlander that as funny as it is, hit eachother at around 60 and NEITHER vehicles airbags went off. Both drivers were under the influence and made it out relativly unscated mostly due to their seatbelts actually working properly but man were they lucky!
If its 830PM, Im assuming youre implying it was dark, why were there firefighters and police there the next day?
Not dark here at 8:30 PM on July 3rd, sunset was after 9:00. May have been later in that part of Quebec.
Having said that most Moose vehicle accidents around here happen at dusk/dawn or in the night. I would have thought that this was at dawn and the police were there later in the morning. I've seen lots of vehicles destroyed by moose accidents here but haven't seen one go through the windshield like that and not kill anyone. WOW

Im just pointing out that it was implied the accident occured because it was dark and they could not see the moose, doesnt appear to be the case. Who knows though maybe it ran out in front of them.

Interesting. I wonder if they get to keep the meat? Also...that wasn't an SUV... but a minivan
When I hit one I call the cops, they fill out a deer tag and home we go, me and the deer. Up here if you don’t want it they donate it to some needy cause. But I always take it. Last one I hit cost me a grill on my F150 and a headlight bucket. I think I have gotten more deer over the years with vehicles than I have with guns.
The meat tastes great when you know you are getting back at the deer by eating it.
Now moose are so big you have like 1,000 lbs of meat. now that’s a lot of meat. I haven't hit a moose yet, knock on wood.

Stupid moose. I really don't care much for large wild animals. I am not a hunter but I am glad there are people who like to shoot them. Every one that takes a bullet is one that will never end up coming through my car's windshield.

4th post below the pics i think
hit like that you don't really want the meat. Well with a deer anyway, not sure about the moose. Lots of ruptured internal parts, and nastified tainted meat.
We don't have moose in Ohio, thank God! But the deer problem is serious.
The Ohio DNR (Department of Natural Resources) will capture the bloody things in the city parks (like Cleveland and Columbus). They then truck them in stock trailer lorries out to our rural area and release them. One would think the insurance agencies would complain about all the deer strike damage to cars out here in the hinterland but they do not. I seldom drive at night anymore but when I do all I see in the fields along the road are glowing eyes waiting to jump across the carriageway. Blast these things. Touch wood I've not hit one but I have a friend who has hit four of them in the last two years. I think I will renew my hunting licence and go after some one of these years. Venison is good and I have a large freezer. Wish they'd let the hunters take more each season though!

Get yourself a good big truck, put a set of Roo Bars, Crash Bars on the frt. Then go driving around at night. You get to keep what you hit with the vehicle, no limit. IF YOU WANT IT.
