I gotta ask, is the spell checking feature part of the forum software, or my browser? I ask because the word "Fiero" always comes up flagged misspelled...
If it's in my browser (Firefox, FWIW) got any ideas how to fix it?

Jizzy, who cares that Fiero comes up misspelled ? Do you not know how to spell it ? Ignore it.
lol. I've been cracking up for the past 15 minutes. Thanks!
Some of those are so far from the intended word, though, that I can't help but think they're doing it on purpose. I've never chatted on my iphone, as i don't have service, and use it mainly to watch youtube vids and make skype calls. Is autocorrect really that Effed up?

That's because many word replacement algorithms employ some variant of Soundex. Soundex was used a lot back in the 1970s, and it was (sometimes) better than nothing, but it doesn't work much better now than it did back then.
My mother's first novel, published last fall, includes a few hilarious word substitutions due to autocorrect that were missed in editing and proofreading. Perhaps the funniest was the passage when one of the main characters arrived home, went back to his bedroom, and changed into his "crudites." (She meant "casual clothes.")

Rules smules. Flamberge, Jizzy doesn't believe in rules unless he can twist them to fit his personal agenda. In fact, we have bent over backwards trying to explain them to him. I have even cut and pasted them for him in various threads and asked him to reply as to why he thinks that they mean what he is trying to tell us they do. I'll do it again.

Forum Rules Don't overuse your signature! Using your signature once in a thread is usually enough. Also, be sure your signature complies with the signature rules
See Jazzman, it says using your signature once in a thread is usually enough. You can scream till you are blue bluer in the face. I don't care. You think using it more than once is gonna accomplish anything ? In that quote is a linky for more refined signature rules. Click on it.
quote
Signature rules When to use your signature It's completely unnecessary to include your signature in every single message you post in the same thread. Even though your sig-pic will only be loaded once (and then cached by your browser), it does mean people have to do a lot of unnecessary scrolling.
Where exactly does it state that a topic may not stray off topic ? Especially in the off topic section ? Again ...
quote
Forum Rules Are you posting in the right section? To summerize, the Technical Discussion & Questions section is just that. For technical discussions and questions. So no "what is the best source for polyurethanemethanoloxide bushings?" or "should I paint my Fiero pink or blue-with-polkadots?" threads. Those belong in the General Fiero Chat section. In this (the GFC) section you can also post threads about the forum itself. Or ask who the owner of that blue-with-polkadots Fiero is. Just as long as it's Fiero or Forum related. The Mall section is for Fiero related items only. If you need to sell your computer, your Lexus, your adult video collection, or your cat, then you should post that in the Totally O/T section. Totally O/T stands for "Totally Off Topic", and not for "Let's start a flamewar 'cause I'm bored". A lot of people seem to misunderstand that. In the TO/T section the same rules apply as in the other sections. So keep it civilized, no circumventing the censor system, no threads about threads, yadah, yadah.
Where Jazzman does it state that we can only post political queeries in religious sections ? It doesn't. Let's recap Flamberge. Name calling is against the rules. I don't think Cliff meant terms of endearment. Here is an example of name calling... :

Now should I have violated Cliff's rule (name calling), again, from the rules, well, he warns us that ...

the rules Keep it civilized! It's ok to disagree with someone. Really, it is. But it's not ok to call someone a "toad licking monkey waxer" just because he disagrees. It'll make you actually look like one. Name-calling will most likely get you a bad rating. At the very least, it will cause the thread to end up in the Trash Can, and at its very worst it will get you banned.
... I can get a bad rating, send a thread to the trash can, or at the very worst be banned. On the other hand, ...

the rules Do not post another member's personal information without his/her consent! So you got really angry with another member and feel you should post his personal information like name, address, telephone number or other private info without his consent. Don't. This is cause for an immediate, nonnegotiable ban from PFF.
... what does Jizzy do ? He posts personal information about me without my consent. He did so in a libelous/slanderous manner, digging up old posts of mine from the archives and twisting the context to do so. Posts which do not even make his case. Here are some examples of how he has tried to paint me.

Sorry, Cliff, but though I respected you at one time you no longer have enough credibility with me for your words to matter to me. I only pray that if, or more likely when, you have that final drunken wreck that you don't take some innocent driver or rider with you. And if I ran a rig operation I'd never hire you to work on a rig, it's far too dangerous a place ffor someone who may be impaired.

Originally posted by JazzMan: I've met him in person, seemed like a personable fella, but his postings here reveal his true nature. Since finding out about his criminal record I've decided I don't want to "be that guy" who can say he had a friend that killed someone driving drunk.

Originally posted by JazzMan: His past? His past?!? Friend, do you even read here in OT? CliffW's posts about his intoxication arrests have been ongoing and public, posted right here in OT no less, repeatedly. Originally posted by JazzMan: As to CliffW, if he doesn't want people to know how his personal life is spiraling down the shittter he probably ought not to continue complaining about it so relentlessly here in public. In fact, I'm surprised he's posted any of it here at all because modern employers are more likely than ever to look up what prospective employees leave on the net for others to see. Were I as a hiring manager to see any of his posts here about his various intoxication and DWI arrests and his propensity to quit his job on a whim I would never hire him. Too much liability, not enough reliability, and the fact he even posts about it so publicly would make me question his rationality.
hehehe, my life spiraling down the shitter, . hehehe, complaining, . Again with libelous/slanderous accusations. I found it all very offensive. So much so I felt the need to defend myself from the perception he tried to attribute to me. Such as, ... (with sarcasm) ...

Perhaps you would do me a favor. I am driving an 05 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 extended cab. Color is (Toyota label) Raceway Blue. My tag # is TX 48F SL2. I'll be going IH 10 west to Junction then north on Hwy 83 to Bollinger. I am then gonna take FM158 to Hwy 70N, going on to Sweetwater to hit socialist Interstate 20. Then a short west jog to 84N (northwest really) and then into Lubbock. Perhaps, if it is not too much trouble, (a life not lost might be worth your effort), you could notify every jurisdiction along the way. Tell 'em I will be veering, weaving, and swerving their way. Ask them to clear the roads for me. Just the southbound lanes will do as I always drive on the wrong side of the road when I am drinking. Wait wait. I might be too drunk and go south. Better clear 'em both. All I got to do before I leave is figure out where this unemployed azz is gonna get the money for gas. I've got beer and ice.
I also challenged him straight out when he called me a self admitted habitual drunk driver ...

Likely only got it because I did not know how to play the revenue game most of the DWI laws are. C'mon Jizzman, show me where I myself admitted to being a habitual drunk driver. Yes, you do lack in class, tact, and ethics. But, you don't care. You can't defend your position because it is indefensible so you resort to ad hominen untrue character assassination.
... with no reply. What Jazzman does being fired for falsely failing a drug test and quitting two jobs (one for safety reasons and of which my boss died for same reasons a week later) have to do with me being unable to keep a job ? How Jazzman does having two DWI convictions, the last 17 years ago, equate me to being a habitual drunk driver ? Because I have had five more charges since then ? You read the threads. You know that three were flat thrown out. Especially the one where they took me for a mandatory blood draw because they know I never blow into a breathalyzer. DWI is an unforgivable offense and the laws do have their place. Revenue is not it. Let's see what other forum members think about what Jazzman had to say about me.

If you're going to hold yourself to a higher standard, then you need to actually do it. Just because someone is mean to you, does not mean it's appropriate to respond in-kind.

What does that have to do with health care, and how is that any more or less appropriate than not marking the thread political?

You behave like the guy who just CAN'T LET IT GO. The thread was clearly political from the title. This is a 'self moderated' forum - therefore your best action would be to give the OP a neg for not marking it appropriately, and SHUTTING THE **** UP. You've shown you can make constructive, relevant contributions to the thread, why don't you keep your contributions as such.
You go on saying that Cliff spends his time (his time IS money) on providing you with the ability to filter threads you don't want to look at, well the other thing that costs Cliff is server resource, which your relentless, frustrating posts erode on every thread like this.
The reason a good number of people mock you for this behaviour, is because you don't seem to get the message. The majority of people here couldn't care less what the thread is tagged as. That's why *most* people ignore you. But you are a constant presence that makes it difficult for the rest of us who aren't as anally retentive as you to enjoy constructive debate.
I remind you of a famous quote by Albert Einstein : Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Are you insane, JazzMan, or do you just have nothing better to do?
There are others.
Not only does he not follow the rules he is an azz to make threats. Promising to troll what he deems unacceptable till he gets his way.

Give it up; you're just as annoying as he is with these posts. This thread was 11 days dead and you resurrected it... for what? Just to run a train on him? Yes, Jazzman is thoroughly annoying (just being honest here Jazz, you are), but these posts are JUST AS if not MORE annoying than his.

A couple of reasons. For one, I won't be bullied. This reply has been sitting and almost went through eleven days ago. I wanted to see if he would slow down. He then called maryjane a prick. It reignited my disgust for his presence on the forum. He challenged us to stop him. The rules, which he touts, were designed to do just that.
