I built a pressure treated structure in place for my new mailbox this morning. I was about to fill it full of rock and mount the mailbox, only I took a break from the heat of the day....... the structure lasted 5 hours before some neighborhood jackass stole it before I could even mount the mailbox. What losers....... People suck.
Could be worse. My neighbor did hundreds of thousands of dollars of landscaping to his yard/property without the proper permits/inspections/certified crew, etc. The HOA allowed him to do it With all the flooding in the area, guess where all the drainage went Yup, flooded my house, garage, my property and a small bit of his... it loosened up the soil, and his dead tree he refused to chop down, yup HOA on his side again, fell on my house. And for the finishing touches, my house collapsed in a pile of rubble from the saturated ground. Now my insurance company rejected my claim: saying they will not cover my damages due to legal circumstances of the construction of his new yard. Oh yeah, he has no insurance whatsoever. Police and sheriffs dept refuse to get involved. Oh, I love Memphis. My only option is to sue him in court, and guess who has been avoiding all the legalities while on vacation in his new condo in Mexico. Yup. As of right now, I'm in the hole better part of 7 figures with this mess. Bankrupt
Looters hit my place hard, too. Just for that extra cherry on top. And I don't even like cherries.

You definitely need to consult a lawyer. If you can show that his improvements violated the HOA rules and that it was responsible for the damages to your property, then you can not only sue him, but the HOA too.

Good lord, what kind of landscaping can run over $100,000? How big are your lots?
How nice must this area be to have the building worth over a million? Here, the value is always in the land until your out in the sticks and then it is pretty cheap.

Where I live I left a 15 speed mountain bike leaning on a power pole out the front for someone to just take it. It was there for 5 days before I had to put a FREE sign on it.

If you put something out by the road and its not a garbage can or tied down its free, those are the rules
No offense intended, but that's what makes the world suck. People feel the need to "help themselves" to what they choose. Just because it's not padlocked, bolted down and gaurded by a Rottweiler doesn't mean it's yours for the taking. Maybe I'm different, but if it's not mine..... I don't want it. Maybe that bike sitting there is stolen? Perhaps that shovel is in the midst of being used? In any case, I'm not going to be the one who ruins someone else's day just because I can take something that's not mine.
In this case, there was a mailbox there for 17 years and it was evident that it was a work in progress.

None taken, I don't take things from peoples yards without talking to them. I don't care what it is. But I know how people think and if its by the road its free because its garbage. I don't leave anything in the front yard anymore because it will turn up missing.
