Hi guys,

Has anyone seen a water bottle/jug/pitcher that can be locked or pad locked? I keep milk at work for making my morning protein shakes but all of the coffee drinkers help themselves to my fresh milk.

If I can't find anything then I might just go in the garage this weekend and build something with some sheet metal and a padlock clasp.

I don't have any ideas for you but, I would like to see a build thread for what you come up with! -Jason

Label it as breast milk and see how many use it then.

or raw (unpasturized) milk.

You can try removing any label, then dropping in a few drops of some awful looking food coloring and see if that helps--it usually won't change the taste one bit.

I think I might have found my solution.

http://www.instawares.com/b...ker.280-1352.0.7.htm

It is meant for liquor bottles so I don't think it will work on a plastic milk jug. I'll have a look around to see if I can find a good size aluminum/stainless steel jug.

Nix that last idea. A 1" opening is much too small. I'll look into other options.

You could try this...

Or perhaps somehow electrify a metal thermos.

Thank you for the suggestions. I bought a Stanley 2 QT thermos, a pad lock and a clasp. I am going to JB Weld the clasp onto the thermos and the cup. It is not going to be that strong but it should be enough to keep the office refrigerator grazers out of my milk. I'll post pictures later after the epoxy dries.

The epoxy is dry. I'm taking it into work. I know the clasp can probably be pried off with a screw driver. This is just to keep the refrigerator grazers out of my milk.

You need to set a camera up and get reactions to the padlock.

Several ideas here but, almost all culminate in those stealing your milk going to the emergency room while you sit in jail. Let's not go there.

I like the food coloring idea Don came up with. Color the milk green. Most folks won't touch it and there will be no change in flavor due to the coloring. Try a different color each day, most will stay clear.

I don't get it. Why not just mix your protein and milk beforehand?

The protein powder settles. Even when I shake it up each time, the last glass will be much thicker than the first.
