It doesn't matter if he bicycled around the state, some would pick fault with that too. The hate is strong in many!
For his policies, his socialist agenda, Obama Care, the list goes on. Almost guilty as charged. I wouldn't call it hate but fear of where he wants to take us and his willingness to sacrifice this county to achieve his socialist goals. Yeah, that's pretty close. I don't care what color his bus is.
Though, I'm still trying to reserve it for a week's vacation in Oct.
While I don't necessarly agree with your premise to begin with, does it make hypocrisy excusable, just because we're now talking about Obama?
Please....
You would have to be reading my statement through an extremely narrow lens to gather that I have given tacit support for political hypocrisy in any quarter by vocalizing it.....Obama or no Obama.

...and suddenly a hypocritical politician is a major shock to the system ? In the presidency, no less?
T'was ever thus, I'm afraid.
Please let us all know when authenticity in political life becomes the norm rather than the exception.
Politicians have been hypocrites for ages, and people have been complaining about them for as long as they've been hypocritical. Please let me know why it's suddenly an issue to complain about hypocrisy when it's Obama's.

A black bus will fit in with almost any setting. It just looks like another bus driving down the road. If you were to paint "Road Bus One" on the side it would be like putting a target on the it.

My friend and I were just at a junkyard off of Hwy 52 getting some new tires put on, and when we went to leave, the city had taken all the snowplows out and parked them in front of every business on the highway. No one could enter or exit the junkyard 30 min before the president came, and made us wait about 10-15 min. after the last police cruiser had went past before the snowplows were moved.

I find the difference in color of the two buses interesting.
Way back in another life, I was responsible for the crews and helicopters transporting the Sec. of Defense on a mission while he was in our area. We had very specific procedures given to us by the Secret Service in how we flew them from point A to point B. We always had to use two aircraft for the pacs, not because there were more pacs than one A/C could carry but for security. We had backup A/C on standby also but, those two primary A/C would always take off together and land together but, would frequently change flight lead while enroute so that no one would know for sure which A/C the Sec. of Def. was in. It was a hard rule that we had to follow. Sometimes he was in the lead A/C, sometimes he was in the trail. Our backup A/C would always follow along about five minutes behind but not land at the destination unless the plan called for it. It's almost impossible to tell the difference in Army helos unless you know the tail numbers, they all pretty much look the same and in this case, we made sure they looked the same. Oh well, another time and another place.
The whole point was to keep potential attackers from knowing which A/C the VIP was in. I'm surprised the buses aren't identical. Then again, with as many cameras surrounding Obama as there are now days, I doubt any bad guys would be fooled.

Would that be these Suburbans?

It didn't pass though, it was a bit too ridiculous, even for the progressive mentality of those in the California legislator.
There were also some things they tried to push through like special windshields and windows that had a type of tint that wasn't REALLY tint, but that deflected the rays...
I could care less the color, or that we even have it.
The part that bothers me is that we are paying (through taxes) for a bus that is being used for campaign purposes. My tax dollars are supporting President Obamas presidential campaign, and that I have a problem with.
I don't care if it was used for transportation, though I am having a hard time seeing where it would actually be useful.
It may be less expensive to use than Air Force One, but the President flies to wherever he is campaigning, and then gets on the bus. So cost is a null argument. The President has done the flying thing for a long time now, so even that is not a big deal.

Uh...not really. I've seen a lot of buses, and I don't remember seeing any that were all black with dark, tinted windows.

Uh....really.
There are quite a few all black Prevost & VanHool tour buses out there with dark, tinted windows. Most cost at least $500,000 fitted out (some even more than that) and are driven regularly. Some of the VanHool conversions are set up as "two story" designs. I've been on a couple of those and have seen quite a few houses that cost less. Sammy Hagar's Chickenfoot used four Prevosts and one VanHool of them during their tour a couple of years ago.
There's a company out of Nashville that specializes in renting customized tour buses to bands and most of them are, well, all black with tinted windows.
A Prevost tour bus...
A VanHool tour bus...
Perhaps it's less problematic when Rascal Flats or the like travels in one than when the POTUS does.

Report: Obama Talking About Jobs While Riding Made-in-Canada Bus Wednesday, August 17, 2011 By Susan Jones
From the New York Post: President Obama is barnstorming the heartland to boost US jobs in a taxpayer-financed luxury bus the government had custom built -- in Canada, The Post has learned. The $1.1 million vehicle is one of two that Quebec-based Prevost sold to the U.S. government. The bus was ordered by the Secret Service in July 2010 and delivered two months ago. The Secret Service says the buses will be available to other protectees who travel by bus, which could include the 2012 GOP presidential nominee.
Uh...not really. I've seen a lot of buses, and I don't remember seeing any that were all black with dark, tinted windows.
I was in the Black Hills 2 or so weeks ago during Sturgis. I would bet you could not throw a rock without hitting a black tour buss that looked like the Presidents. Lemme dig though my pictures of that trip. Im betting I find a few in the back ground.
Well perhaps the next time you are trying to prove a point you could, I don't know, not make crap up. Really that is an obviously photoshopped picture, the (I can only assume) large non-black lettering on the side is sprayed over.
Check your sources for they reflect on you (unless it's a really bad photoshoppe and there is no reflection).

I guess I can understand your skepticism. After all. I don't know how many high dollar tours find their way to Wheaton, MO.

President Obama is rolling through the Midwest this week on a three-state, campaign-style swing in a brand new, sleek, black, armored bus. It's pretty flashy - no, seriously, it is, as in it has flashing lights like a police vehicle, which were on as the president rolled into his stop in Cannon Falls, Minnesota yesterday.
The bus is one of two the Secret Service bought recently (one in April, one in June) to move "protectees" - President Obama, Vice President Biden, the First Lady and, soon, the Republican presidential nominee, as well as others.
The price tag for each bus: $1.1 million, purchased from Hemphill Brothers Coach Company in Tennessee. A representative declined to answer questions about the bus but the company's website displays a number of coaches for sale, including used buses, one of which was previously the ride of a "popular country music act".
It's the first time the Secret Service has had a bus in its fleet of vehicles, which includes armored limousines (referred to as "The Beast" when the president rides in one) that were added when President Obama took office.
The Secret Service bought the buses in anticipation of the busy 2012 presidential campaign and assisted in the design of the vehicles.
"We felt we were overdue for having an asset like this in our fleet," Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan told CNN. "Candidates and presidents have been participating in bus tours since 1980."
In the past, the Secret Service has leased buses, adding protective armor and advanced communications capabilities that must be stripped from the buses to restore them to their original condition before they are returned. It was an expensive practice, costing tens of thousands of dollars per month, Donovan said, and the Secret Service expects the new buses will ultimately save money over time.
So how pimped is this ride? We don't know. The Secret Service won't reveal details and so far members of the press have yet to sneak a peek inside
I guess I can understand your skepticism. After all. I don't know how many high dollar tours find their way to Wheaton, MO.
So it's a class thing? You live somewhere that has photoshopped busses running around? I don't get it. Perhaps I am not good enough or something. Please, elaborate.
And you realize Wheaton is right outside of Branson right, lots of good musicians there, but I doubt you have heard of the place.

I really don't care what color the frigg'n bus is, I'm not real pleased that it wasn't made in the USA but, I don't know much about bus manufacturing so maybe Cananda was the only close option. At least it wasn't made in China.
As far as limosine coaches go, I see them quite frequently traveling up and down the interstate. I don't really care who's on board, I always assume some band. Never thought it might be a community organizer.
Well, I've emailed, called and called again, apparently I don't have enough stock in the bus to actually use it for a week. I had such big plans to.

Prevost is the Cadillac of buses. Great to drive and very comfortable. Controls are easy to reach. I drove MCI and VanHool buses and you can tell the difference big time.
$1.1 mil isn't bad considering the upgrades. A hard-driven bus will be driven 100,000 miles in a year. These buses won't be. They should last 1,000,000 miles.
So, I am not against a bus, but I have to ask, why is it all black. Why not paint it something along the lines of Air Force One?
Everything else in the presidents motor cads have been for generations.. why stop now? Tho a nice USA emblem or something somewhere would be nice, it is OUR bus, not his ...
