Well, I've had these 19's for ever now. Renee bought them for the Rat back 14 years ago. To make a long story short, one ended up getting some curb rash and of course I can't get a replacement rim anymore. So I searched high and low for a solution to my problem and found whats called Rim-Ringz. They are designed to keep you from accidently curbing your expensive rims and they cover up existing curb rash as well. They come in various sizes and colors. Very flexable nylon sytle plastic. I wish I knew about these before it happened so to those with nice rims or nice rims that got curbed - I would recommend these. The 19" ones cost me $70 for the set with the tools to install and remove them...I thought it was a great idea - Too bad I didn't think of it first...LOL

and heres the after shot. I'll post a pic with them on the car later...

looks good.. but are they thick enough that a rash moment won't just pass through the nylon and to the rim..
and have you checked that bead with water for leaks..
nice Idea..
can you do a close up of the rim lip

The rings have 1" tabs that slide down between the rim and the tire. The bead is fine and the tires hold air no problem. I will take a pic of the actual ring and a closeup of it on the tire when I get home today.

I'll mic the thickness as well. They are made of a real though plastic. Obviously if you curb it, the plastic will scuff but it will save the rim.

I have to admit I like how it looks especially if it hides curb rash. Do you have a before shot for comparison?

Also, I'm assuming they come in a variety of colors?

I will get pics of the whole install process today. I have the curbed rim left to do. I had bad clear coat on it from cats peeing on the rim so did a quick refinish untill I do a complete polish this winter.

And yes, they come in diffrent colors and sizes.

Sorry for the delay. Yes the above post is to their site and yes they are as easy to install as they show. I did find, however. that with low profile tires its a PITA! A rubber mallot came in handy LOL

They arrived in a nice box and were well packed.

The tabs that hook on between the rim and tire.

Get them all on there...

Use the tool to pull back the tire and push in the tab...

The finished product...

The curb rash it covers...
