I know I am on a self-imposed hiatus to avoid the political discussions and their usual participants, but I just had to stop in to express my disappointment in a large amount of my fellow ex-Americans ( ‘ex’ as I totally disavow them at this point. They no longer deserve to call themselves Americans ). Those that chose to continue down the path with a egotistical socialist maniac bent on total destruction of this country and what it stands for.

This is the group that have now clearly chosen to stand in a line for a government handout ( while it lasts ) instead of standing up on their own and excelling. The group that has chosen oppression and restrictions over freedoms and liberties. Chosen to essentially piss on the graves of those that have sacrificed so much over the generations to build this great nation. You are disgusting, every last one of you, and I sincerely hope that when the revolution comes ( and it is coming don’t doubt me on that ) that you and your families are the first against the wall.

Feel free to comment/flame as I know some of you will ( and you know who you are ), but it will be a waste of your energy and useless words, as once I return from my time away ( assuming you pinko cowards don’t ban me while I’m gone ) I simply refuse to read comments from traitors. But still feel free to spew stupidity as much as you like. I’m sure the people who chose the right way will find amusement in it.

And for those who did support freedom, remember the fight is not over and never give up hope, however the darkest days for this country are still to come as this abomination in Washington systematically undoes all that has been accomplished before.

I agree. Not much to say. He won the votes of most women, most college students, most blacks and Hispanics. He didnt win with males over 30 who are most of the business owners in the country. That says something.

They all deserve what they get now. Just like in the wake of Sandy, people were told to get out of the way and those who didnt paid a high price. He will be far worse this term because he cant run again and has nothing to lose. Nuf said.

I believe the opposite will happen.

Obama needs to build a legacy and does not have the burden to run for re-election. So he will be Clintonized, because he has to compromise to get anything done.

He won't give up taxing the rich, that is for sure but for most all other economic issue he will turn right. But I'm much more optimistic about the future than any Republican feels today.

But the Republicans won't ever get a chance to win the Presidency in the future because of shifting Demographics of our country will turn even sharper towards more immigrants and more independent women. If Republicans don't compromise on immigration like Baby Bush and Reagan tried to do and drop the insidious anti-choice single-issue voters, then expect them to always be a permanent minority.

Romney/Ryan lost on the anti-choice stance, clear and simple.

Everything Ive seen said the biggest influence was the views on the economy. Ohio apparently was very much for the auto bailout, and had a lot to do with voting here according to local news.

I didn't vote for Obama either time. I didn't vote for McCain or Romney either. I would be a republican if they would get their head out of their ass on the social issues. I don't see that happening though and I believe that is why they will be on the downslide until another party takes their place.

The sad part is that I used to have faith in the intelligence of the average American and chalked 2008 up to an anomaly. McCain was a lack luster candidate and Obama was stylish and the first African American to win his Parties' nomination. The "cool" factor had to be the solution I summized. But now I have to readily accept that the average American is an uneducated sheep. Is the education system to blame? Is the Hollywood culture to blame? When people with 2 digit IQs are allowed to have a say in who is in power you will end up with 2 digit IQ Leaders. Two problems... Romney, the person, and Romney's plan. The majority of the voting population did not believe in this guy or his sales pitch. Why do people want to blame the voters... call them stupid, etc when the problem is within the republican party?

There are women, college students, Black people, and Hispanic people who all voted for Romney.

Todd talked about Obama supporters. I don't agree with his blanket term of putting them all into uneducated status but I have to just say he didn't say anything you just claimed him to say.

I've been "away" from the forum for a while. Not only because I got a bit sick and tired with the drama recently, but also because I've been extremely busy with my work these past few months. I'm currently working on building a website for one of the world's largest pharmaceuticals. The "back end" of this website is incredibly complex any I've been working on average 14-16 hours each day for the past few months. This work is incredibly complex and - not to toot my own horn - there aren't many people that can do this job.

So you would think that: big job + big company + not many people that can do this = making a lot of money.

Unfortunately, I live in a socialist country. I fall in the category the government feels needs to be taxed more. And receive less benefits. Because they think that since I have a business I can easily pay my own taxes and benefits and the taxes and benefits for those that don't have a job.

The odd thing is that in the end, the guy who is sitting at home doing nothing, is making more money than I am working 16 hours a day. Paying the bills each month is becoming increasingly difficult and we've been on the verge of bankruptcy a few times already. We can't afford any extras. We can no longer afford taking a vacation (or taking a break for that matter) while our employees take a 3 week holiday each year. Yes, our employees (who work at most 36 hours a week) also make more money than we do.

What the government doesn't seem to grasp, is that businesses are the pillars of the economy. We are the ones creating jobs. Take away our money and we can't afford to hire people (anymore) and unemployment will rise. This is the socialist way. It doesn't work. It has never worked. It will never work.

But the problem is that this is a vicious circle. With a socialist government, eventually more people will be "poor" because either there will be less jobs available, or the same amount of work is going to be spread out over more workers. And these "poor" of course will vote in the next election for a socialist government since they will tell those people not to worry, they'll just take some more money from the "rich". Which in turn will lead to more unemployed people who are going to vote for a socialist government, and so on. Once you are in that spiral, it's incredibly difficult to come out of it.

This is what is happening in Europe right now. As it turns out, the governments have been giving away money ("social benefits") while the source (the "rich" companies) had dried up. Even so, the socialist are trying to squeeze every last cent out of that group. The result is that big companies are fleeing the continent and people like me (and my wife since she is a business owner as well) are the government's new target. But even so, everybody looses. Since there's no money left for the government to steal anymore, our social benefits are shrinking rapidly. The quality of healthcare is dropping rapidly and is becoming increasingly expensive. Unemployment rises and the educated workforce is fleeing the country. What's left are people unable to support an economy.

Back to the topic at hand.

Obama thinks he can save the economy by doing exactly what Europe has proven doesn't work. He can no longer point at Europe and say "See? It works!". Instead he points at his "accomplishments". He points at the decreasing number of unemployed people in the past few years. What he fails to mention is that the number of unemployed had increased dramatically first. It's now at the same level as when he became president. USA's luck was that Europe fell into the Euro crisis. This made the Euro weak and the Dollar stronger.

Yesterday I watched a program on Dutch TV, from a pro-Obama network even, and even they couldn't understand why Obama even stood a chance to get re-elected. With so many broken promises, an so little accomplishments (Obamacare isn't an accomplishment as we have proven). But it's the vicious circle I spoke off earlier. More people with less income will vote for the one promising to take it from the rich and give it to the poor. And Obama added a few million voters only 6 months back: the families of a few million illegal now legal Mexicans.

In short, I'm incredibly disappointed that he was reelected. He has been hurting your country the past 4 years and I really hope that he doesn't, as he says so himself, "finish the job". I believe with all my heart that Romney would have been able to save your economy. And a growing US economy is what Europe needs to crawl out of our crisis. We need you to start consuming again.
