- The U.S. Senate voted against the U.N. resolution.Resolution 2117 lists 21 points dealing with firearms control, but perhaps of most interest is point number 11: “CALLS FOR MEMBER STATES TO SUPPORT WEAPONS COLLECTION, DISARMAMENT ---” At least our Texas Senators are not on this list. I am sorry to see so many other states have a sorry record of the 2nd amendment support. Now, Which 46 Senators Voted to Destroy Us? Well, let their names become known !! See below . If you vote in one of the states listed with these 46 “legis..traitors”… vote against them. In a 53-46 vote, the Senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. The Statement of Purpose from the Bill reads: "To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty." The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S. and had language that would have implemented aninternational gun registry, now get this, on all private guns and ammo. Astonishingly, 46 out of our 100 United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power. Here are the 46 senators who voted to give your rights to the U.N. Baldwin (D-WI) Baucus (D-MT) Bennett (D-CO) Blumenthal (D-CT) Boxer (D-CA) Brown (D-OH) Cantwell (D-WA) Cardin (D-MD) Carper (D-DE) Casey (D-PA) Coons (D-DE) Cowan (D-MA) Durbin (D-IL)j Feinstein (D-CA) Franken (D-MN) Gillibrand (D-NY) Harkin (D-IA) Hirono (D-HI) Johnson (D-SD) Kaine (D-VA) King (I-ME) Klobuchar (D-MN) Landrieu (D-LA) Leahy (D-VT) Levin (D-MI) McCaskill (D-MO) Menendez (D-NJ) Merkley (D-OR) Mikulski (D-MD) Murphy (D-CT) Murray (D-WA) Nelson (D-FL) Reed (D-RI) Reid (D-NV) Rockefeller (D-WV) Sanders (I-VT) Schatz (D-HI) Schumer (D-NY) Shaheen (D-NH) Stabenow (D-MI) Udall (D-CO) Udall (D-NM) Warner (D-VA) Warren (D-MA) Whitehouse (D-RI) Wyden (D-OR) Folks: This needs to go viral. We have been betrayed. 46 Senators Voted to Give your 2nd Amendment Constitutional Rights to the U.N."[/i]

Here's the full text of section 11 of U. N. Resolution 2117:
quote
11. Calls for Member States to support weapons collection, disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of ex-combatants, as well as physical security and stockpile management programmes by United Nations peacekeeping operations where so mandated;
"Reaffirming the sovereign right of any State to regulate and control conventional arms exclusively within its territory, pursuant to its own legal or constitutional system,"

Am I the only one (here) who finds it more than a little bit scary that the American Gun Cultists are so easily duped? Guns - brains can't be good.
Thanks, Marvin. And Lurker.
everyone is being duped, pro-gun, anti-gun, all of us. politicians , corporations, pacs, they have their agendas and try to shape public opinion to their own ends, usually short term or personal gain. they consider us pawns, lie to us, poison us, discard us when it suits them. we are "human resources".

Sadly, I tend to agree. Most people cannot think, much less plan, beyond their immediate needs and their own lifetime. In fact, I would speculate that most people seldom plan beyond the next day or two, if that. Some people seldom think at all.

"Update, Oct. 16, 2013: Secretary of State John Kerry signed the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty on behalf of President Obama and the United States on Sept. 25. In a statement, he said the treaty is “about keeping weapons out of the hands of terrorists and rogue actors,” and “reducing the risk of international transfers of conventional arms that will be used to carry out the world’s worst crimes.” He added that the treaty “recognizes the freedom of both individuals and states to obtain, possess, and use arms for legitimate purposes.”
The treaty had previously been approved by a U.N. General Assembly vote in April. That was after all 193 U.N. member nations failed to agree on the treaty text in conference. Of the nations participating in the General Assembly vote, 154 voted in favor (the U.S. included), three voted against (the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Iran and Syria), and 23 abstained.
Back in March, the Senate voted 53 to 46 in favor of Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe’s amendment to prevent the U.S. from entering into the treaty. But that vote was purely symbolic and not binding. Now that Kerry has signed the treaty, the Senate must vote again to approve a resolution of ratification before the U.S. can be bound by the treaty’s terms." -
In considering what I should reply to the person who sent me this viral email.. Is it fair to say this part may be true then?
"The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, ... would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S."

Dear Your Exalted Man-God,
It is with great regret with-which I am forced to put quill to paper. I have no young good-looking women to send you. Please accept this picture I drew for you, suitable for rubbing-one-out:
Sorry for the lack of definition, but I finished before I finished. Here's hoping you do the same.

When we're young we're told it's ours, But less like players, more like cards.
They sell us cars & diet-dreams, And model women magazines.
Accounts get larger, to them we pay, While one blue pill erase the day. And all the more we seem to get, You think to win, don't place that bet.
The dream is dead within the fray, A future sold for yesterday.
