I have a nice caddy 4.9 w/some cool parts for sale in Gladsone Michigan. Included is a wiring harness with all the electronics you'll need, two computer modules, a complete new gasket set (uninstalled in box), a new water pump (also still in box) & the original 4.9 exhaust manifolds (headers). The engine looks great, and was supposed to go into my 84, but due to some screwy circumstances that never happened. I'm in Illinois and can provide you with the location, but you'll have to pick it all up. The landlord has agreed to let me keep the motor there for a year. It also has the fuel rails & some other misc parts. One of the side mounts looked cracked if I remember correctly. I believe the motor had 70,000 miles on it, it is not sealed properly & has been away from it's car for at least two years. The plenum is the cadillac grey color with black painted detailing (looks slick) This insn't a complete kit, but it is a nice collection of parts which I am losing a ton of money on. It would make a great jump-start to someone's 4.9 project.
will try ebay next.
*edit 8-16-05* Price is now $300, after hearing some info on storing it without sealing adding extra work for the future owner. One week til Ebay

What he is asking is: Does it have an intake that looks like a normal carb intake manifold with or without 2 tubes running off of it (TBI and TPI) or does it have 8 long L shaped tubes going up and over to a plenum.

I'm also interested either way. Three fieros, might as well be on all three swaps at once. I just realized you said you were in IL. I could throw this in the coupe and save the eco for the SE. A 4.9 swap will be quicker than an eco, and it was always the plan to get one of the cars a 4.9. Put me second in line.
It doesn't look like the one in that picture. They are two separate 4-outlet manifolds. They are also much shorter than those pictured. This must mean my info about it being from an allante is false. I'll email those interested

I'm beiong very careful with my checking accout atm to make sure that if I do come to the front of the line on this, I can follow through. If anything changes on my end I will post to this thread taking myself out of line.
Also wanted to ask how long this engine has been out of the cadillac and if it has been properly sealed off. Water necks intake heater hoses etc all covered?
Does it have injectors in the throttle body or in the manifold ? Think you mentioned fuel rails, so I would assume it's the PFI, but we all know it's dangerous to assume anything.

I am not holding anyone to anything so no fears. The motor has been off it's car for at least two years, maybe more. nothing has been sealed properly, the more I think about it, the price is pretty negotiable at this point. Wish I had more info for you, but unfortunately I'm not a mechanic. It had two long fuel rail lines attached to it, so it was definately fuel injected. I believe all the injectors are there, although they might be bad if not sealing them affects them. sorry to sound like a noob, but on motor issues I'm afraid that's what I'm reduced to. I feel so dirty
Thanks for the interest, I'm going to edit my initial post to reduce confusion on the allante reference. mike

I'm stepping out also, when I told the guys I share my shop with that I was thinking about doing a 4.9 side by side with the ecotec, they got a little pissy.
