This car started life as an '86 2.5 auto coup that I found sitting in a field in Norman, OK. I also had an '87 GT that was to be my V8 but it was pretty rusty. I stripped the '86 down to bare chassis and put it back together with all the parts from my '87 GT. The VIN identifies this car as an '86 coup, but all its parts are '87 GT. I haven't driven this car in the salt at all, so the chassis is still rust-free and in great shape.
Mods:
V8 Archie installed a 305 TPI for me in Jan. 2003. It ran great but I wanted a little more. Last year I replaced that with a 350 that a friend and I rebuilt. The 350 still uses all the electronics from the 305. It runs well, but needs to be tuned. Ask if you want details of the 350 build. The 305 is in good condition in my garage and can go with the car. The engine is mated to a 5 speed Getrag that was rebuilt in 2005. It shifts into first from idle smoothly and does not grind into reverse. I put a few thousand miles on it last year and it is like new.
The suspension includes all poly bushings and Eibach lowering springs. Enkei RS5 17x7 wheels. Tires need to be replaced. Brakes are Archie's 11.5" big brake kit.
The car was painted black with very generous help from Roger Garrison ( a great guy ) and includes quarter window scoops with windows from the Fiero Store. Windshield is new since 2003.
The interior is mostly stripped except the headliner and a few other pieces. I recovered the headliner in black vinyl and reinstalled it with a new weatherstrip. The steering wheel is Momo Millenium new from 2005. Shifter is Momo Anatomico on Rodney's short shifter for aftermarket knobs. The carpets were replaced with new black carpet. I installed a new Viper alarm with keyless entry and remote start (disabled) and it works great.
Many extra parts (if you want) are included with the car. I have many parts left over from stripping both cars including an extra hood (for a scoop someday), a few body panels, and several interior pieces. The 305 goes with it too if you want. Basicly anything Fiero related that I still have.
I have probably forgotten to mention a few things. Many thousands have been invested in this car, but I just don't have the time right now to finish it up. Therefore the desire is fading fast. If you are looking for a nice car to finish to your taste, or maybe a jump-start to your project, this is it. I have no firm price set. Best reasonable offer takes it. I want to move on from this project.
PM me for contact info please.

We PM'd a few day ago. You don't know how tempted I am on some of these V8 5-speeds for sale (SBC or 4.9). They are all "too nice" (and pricey) for what I need it for. I need something with junk wheels and tires, no body mods, faded paint, no big brake or suspension upgrades and ratty interior. Pretty much just the Engine, Cradle, and manual trans and related parts to convert mine.
Or the ideal situation: SBC or 4.9 w// Manual Trans with a blown or smoking or noisy motor and faded paint and not so good interior at a good price. Ummmmmm Drooooooool.
I can't get motivated to start this SBC / 4T60 Swap because I just miss my SBC / Getrag combo that I had in the last car. I've missed the last few good deals on this site in the $5k and under range.
Just another bump for you. Nice project and great work so far. (Why can't it be "Rattier").

You wouldn't be interested in any kind of a trade, would you?
Thnx

...are you mad?? That car does what people expect it to, a V8 Fiero is like a rope-a-dope! you hook 'em and beat 'em to death! ;-)
I'm currently building my first V8 Fiero and might be a little zealous but, a 350Z roadster??? I might see a BMW M roadster or Z8 but a 350Z???
To each their own. Please send me a PM with your high offer so I can determine whether or not I want in on this, as I really don't need another project.
Thanks, Sean
