I am starting a new thread since I am adding the 3.4 engine to the deal:
I would like to trade these two Fieros for a nice running - good looking 2.8 (or better) 5-speed GT.
Here is what I have to offer:
The 3.4 is from a Camaro and has only 35,000 miles (end of
https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/071253.html) and is already stripped of the intake and other parts. The other parts are included since you still need the fuel injectors.
1988 GTWhite
5-speed
Wing delete
Interior is in pretty good shape (8 out of 10)
Has a black coupe nose on a GT body, so paint is recommended
Exhaust leak on cracked front manifold
14x,xxx miles
Power options
Headlights work fine
Cracked windshield
the A/C is down right now, but I plan to take it in for a recharge. I think it was working last summer.
Runs good, but loud from manifold crack and squeeky front end (I have another manifold on the way)
(
photos of 88GT are from the previous owner)
1987 GT6,000 miles on a new Dealer-installed 2.8 longblock (receipt in the car)
Rebuilt 5-speed Getrag (cost past owner $900) WITH NO MILES
Last owner put rebuilt tranny to engine and installed the cradle, then had a bike accident and couldn't finish it
Rear suspension still needs install work as the rear wheels are not aligned/bolted completely and clutch bled
Engine starts fine but hesitates when gas is pushed
Interior needs most everything replaced
Cracked windshield
Car was painted yellow by previous owner - not a pretty paint job (originally gold)
Headlights and power windows all work
I need to focus my time on the Fino, but I still need a fun ride to work each day. I have spent zero time working on these cars, but I did drive the 88GT to work a few times before the exhaust noise got too annoying. I have not even looked under the 87 GT yet to see what needs to be done.
Cars are in Waldorf, MD - about 19 miles south-southeast of DC and an hour south of Baltimore. I believe I am 1.5 hours from Richmond.
Feel free to post questions here - or send questions to saxman at finiero dot com. I'd rather not use PM's, so email (or replying to this thread) is best.
I just keep this going one more weekend - then I'll try something else. Thanks for looking!
