Hello, I have some goodies for sale here.... I have 2 Blaupunkt ODW1200HP Slim subs (2.5in thick) and a Blaupunkt Pasadena CD71 Head Unit. For the subs I am asking $175 and $165. The only reason for the price differance is because one has a bubble in the aluminum that doesn't effect the sound. For the head unit, I am asking $145 but will negotiate a little if need be... all prices are without shipping

time for some details, first the subs:
http://www.blaupunkt.com/us/7606200283_main.asp
retail: $449

Both are open box... and tested. Beyond testing, these subs have not been used. and include instruction manual. Creating a behind the seat box that is 3in deep where the sub is mounted will allow you to maintain full seat movement while not needing to cut out the firewall. If the firewall is cut out, you will not need to build a box and maintain full stock look, minus the speaker that is. One Sub has a small bubble in the aluminum which does not affect the sound in any way and was casued through the storage of the speaker in our steel storage shed which can get extremely hot. Like I stated earlier, it is tested and sounds great, but i took $10 off the price for the dime sized bubble.
Size 12"
Type Single Coil
Power Continuous (W rms) 200
Power Peak (W max) 600
Sensitivity (dB 2.83V / 1m) 90
Frequency Response (Hz) 20 - 200
Magnet Weight (oz) 40.0
Cone Material Alum / Foam
Surround Material Foam
Mounting Depth (in. / mm) 2.56 / 65.

now onto the head unit:
Retail $349

used, works great and comes with 2 keycards. These keycars store radio presets and volume settinges... that allows 2 people to have their settings automatically start with the car when they insert their card.

the following informatin was taken off of cardomain:

I just like the subs but I build the console boxes and they would fit in it no problem that way, slim size but shipping would probably kill me on them

How much airspace does each require? I found no info about this on the linked website. The box must have come with some specs.

Thanks,

Mike

sorry about that, didnt realize that the airspace info was not listed... in a sealed box they are efficient from .5-2 cubic feet of space but below I go more into detail.

Sealed Box 0.5-2.0cuft
cuft-----frequancy------spl
0.5---------54hz---------87db
0.75-------48hz---------87db
1.0---------44hz---------87db
1.5---------40hz---------87db

Vented Box 0.-2.0cuft
cuft----frequancy-----port--------port-----SPL
--------------------------Tuning----Length
0.5--------58hz--------55hz-------10.6"----92db
0.75------48hz--------45hz-------10.6"----91db
1.0--------42hz--------40hz--------9.9"-----91db
1.5--------35hz--------35hz--------8.2"-----90db
2.0--------31hz--------31hz--------7.7"-----90db

Tomarrow I will post all the pics of the box (with details of charts and such), subs, amp and head unit. If anyone has any other questions feel free to ask

I've noticed that these subs are no longer in Production? Is that true? How long have you had them? How do they compare to other 12" subs of normal structure and a higher-end brand? What if I get them and they don't hit very hard and I'm not satisfied, could I get a refund? I'm having trouble imagining them being as good being so "slim"

these subs do not hit as hard as a traditional sub. I would say that they hit at 85-90% as hard as a traditional model. As with any sub, the amp will have to be tuned so if you do a sided by side comparision, make sure the the amp is tuned to the sub. I must admit though, with the two of them wired in my test box (located in the garage) I was albe to get stuff to shake, you can by far feel them. Compaired to subs of a higher brand and the same price, I would have to say that these would not be able to compair volume wise, but are more accurate. The reason that they would not be putting out as much volume is just because of excursion rates, ( higher the excursion = more air dispacement = more volume). Generally, with the higher excursion rate, you in turn will require a larger box. The reason these subs are more accurate is due to the spider size (support on the rear of the speaker), on a traditional sub this is generally 2-3" diameter. on the subs I am offering, this dimension is just over 9" which will keep the sub moving straight. The spider is also the same material which also helps this cause versus the paper spider in most traditional subs.

To answer your other questions, I purchased these subs a year ago and with being in school and not having my car with me have just not had the time to install them. These subs went out of production around the time I purchased them, at that point they had been in production for about 4 years and sales not too hot. I guess the reason is what is seen with most of the slim subs out on the market today, cost and the small market for slim subs. It was actually so hard for me to get these, I had to have them ordered from germany and the people in the shop had never heard of them. about the terms of a refund... How does 14 days sound? send them back to me and all you will be out is shipping one way.

I hope this answers all of your questions, If not let me know. And keep in mind, these will not be as loud as a traditional sub, but will be close. What you would need to consider is, how often would you need that extra bass? and is the extra work/box space worth the noise?
