I'm trying to find out the history of my Fiero. I'm willing to pay $10 via Paypal to anyone who can find out any information on where the car was before I bought it, and $25 for any old pictures of it. Here's what little I know:

This is where I've compiled the most information on the car:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/699351

Red 84 Fiero SE, gray interior. That narrows it down, doesn't it?

I purchased it on April 23rd, 2004 at 5:00 PM from an old friend of mine, Shane Bearss. He brought it up to Traverse City with him from Grand Rapids, MI.

The car was built approximately December 8th, 1983, according to a sticker I found in the gauge cluster, Fiero production # 24,421. Verification of this would be great, too. According to the dealer invoice I got from Pontiac Historical Services, the car was sent to a dealer in Caro, Michigan.

Now this starts a huge gap in information. Whenever I've run a Carfax on the car, the earliest information the Carfax contains is 1998

So Shane bought it in 2003, and sometime between 1984 and 1998 it found it's way from Caro to Grand Rapids. The only clue I have to go on from in between that timeframe is a credit card I found under the driver's seat that expired in 1988, the name on the front of the card is Jeffery Willis, and the signiture on the back is of Tanya Willis. I'm guessing one of them was the owner, but it could have been a friend's card that got lost in the car or something, too.

I'm not sure where to go from here, so I figured some of you may have connections or expertise in finding such information.

Thanks!

Take the card to the bank of issue and give it to them. Ask them that if the owners are still members of the bank if they would ask the owners to contact you.

Unfortunately it's just a Shell gas card.

I'll also add that the car had a black 3-piece car bra on the front with FIERO in which stitching in the middle, and probably had one for a long time, because the paint on the bumper was really worn down. Also, at some point the car had small third-gen Firebird stickers on the front fenders just forward the doors, you can barely see their outline in the paint. Maybe someone in the West Michigan Fiero Club would know the car?

Yeah, there's just so many. I found the previous owner's email, so I asked him a few questions, hopefully he responds. Unless it's a real common name, the guy Shane bought it from probably still lives in Grand Rapids, and shouldn't be too difficult to track down. Hopefully that guy will talk to me, and remember who he bought it from.

Just curiosity. Might explain some of the car's quirks, or why it was pretty much beat to hell when I got it.
