After 10 years of sweat and blood, I am parting with my baby.
It's a 1987 GT with 5 spd tranny.
I have invested over $20,000 into the car.
Here are some of the upgrades and features:
1. Rebuilt 3.1L with Audi 5000 Turbo
2. Custom 2.5" exhaust with SS tips and Spintech muffler (no cat - check local laws!)
3. Street dreams lowering spindles on front
4. Ground Control coilovers, KYB shocks and Fiero Store sway bar on rear
5. High flow cooling fan with Rodney's low temp switch
6. Fiero Store headers with 'special' locking bolts
7. 18" FRD wheels with brand new Z-rated rubber
8. Custom body: V8 Archie side scoops, tall wing stands, customized wing, custom front vents, widened fenders (subtle), rear decklid scoop, front hood vent
9. Steel braided clutch line
10. Mr. Mike's 2-tone leather seats with logos (beige with black outer)
11. Brand new Fiero Store leather steering wheel (just put in!)

Other new or newer parts:
1. Just put in a new slave cylinder
2. Just put in right e-brake cable
3. New selector (shifter) cable put in last year
4. New master cylinder installed within the last 2 years
5. New rear rotors within the last 2 years - cross-drilled
6. All brake pads at least 50%
7. Nearly new trunk seal
8. Fiero Store floormats - 2 years old
9. Newer oil pressure sending unit
10. Alternator rebuilt
11. New clutch and flywheel approx. 50,000 KMS ago
12. New AC compressor, condenser 4 years ago
13. Pioneer 4x6 front speakers
14. New quarter windows put in about 2 years ago.
15. New water pump installed 4 years ago.

Options:
PM, PW, PDL, Sunroof, AC, Cruise (not working currently but will be by the time the car sells -died recently), Delco CD player, factory subwoofer, speakers in headrests (seats are from 1984 Fiero), power trunk, rear defrost

Misc. Notes:
Car has working alarm. I have receipts for pretty much everything. Tons more small things done in the last few years like new bearings, coolant temp sensor, oxygen sensor, etc. etc.
No rust underneath - I have never driven it in the winter and car is originally from British Columbia.
Driver's side dash corner is damaged - passenger is perfect.
Center console is in perfect shape. All other interior parts are original and in nice shape, including carpets.
Total mileage on body is 242,000 kms (151K Miles) but virtually everything has been replaced, short of tranny.
No leaks from engine (rebuilt at 194,000 kms).

Now the negatives:
The front end has been customized with side vents. The bra is customized to fit the vents.
Underneath the bra there is some paint damage on the driver's side. No tears in the facia just paint damage (I hit a wild hare with it about 1 year ago ).
Couple of scuffs on passenger side of side scoops, otherwise paint good. It's a 2001 Mustang yellow.
Still original coolant hoses. Whoever buys the car, I recommend replacement.

The front right wheel shakes a bit starting at about 80-90 kms/hr (around 50 mi). It's not huge but is noticeable and more so around 120 kms/hr. It must be bent because they couldn't balance it. I am taking it in this weekend to a wheel shop to get it straightened out. this is now fine

That's about it!!

ASKING PRICE: $7,900 CDN

I will help with arranging shipping to anywhere.

This car is like any souped up Fiero that is 20 years old: not perfect but pretty damn good.
It presents itself really well, has good power and handles like it's on rails.

Payment will have to be made before car is shipped (obviously).
For character references you can ask other Calgary Fiero Owners Group members (Flashy, Fierosound and I think there's a few more on here whose user names I don't remember).

I can take other pics and send privately to anyone who is interested.

Sorry - this is the only pic I have at the moment - not trying to show *me*!!.

Hi Blake! Long time no talk.

I'm leaving only in the body but not in spirit.

I will still hang out here because I enjoy the conversations and many topics.
I still love Fieros and enjoy looking at people's mods.
After all I've had 5 of these cars over the years.

I'm moving to Corvettes now. I bought an '01 Z06 with 7,000 miles on it.
I love it!!! It's yellow too!

It was just time for a change and I don't have the room to keep 3 cars.

low mileage Z06, huh? Well at least you have good taste.

I look at the LS powered cars (like my wife's)... and all I can tend to do is think... "donor..."

good luck on the sale, and if you make it back to Texas, PM me!

Just throw my 0.02 in for a bump

This is a nice and unique car, worth the asking price.

BTW: Voytek, did you have the clutch line made up locally, or where did you buy it from?

Yes. Definitely a nice car!

If I were in the market, it would definitely be at the top of the list.

Hmmm... Just out of curiosity, what is the Canada/US exchange rate, these days?

Exchange rate is 0.8865 today.
I guess that would make the US *asking* price about $7K.

To answer the other question: the speedo is in kms.

Great.

I have to ask: how does it run, being turbo'd and all. Also do you have a dyno sheet.
Darn, I just checked the map and shipping to Massachusetts would cost an arm and a leg. Do you have a transportation service that you use?

It runs great.
I've had the turbo setup for about 3 years now - 8 psi boost.
Due to heat, I've had to install custom header bolts that don't back off.
Once per season I have to tighten the nuts on the y-pipe to header because the expansion - contraction from heat loosens them up a bit.
One tack-weld would take care of that (something I've never gotten around to).

There is a knock-sensor installed in the block with a knock computer from an '80's Buick behind the trunk liner.
It retards timing when necessary to prevent knocking. Never had any problems with it (cheap part too - speaking of cheap, eh?).

I don't have a dyno sheet. The installer estimated 220 - 240 hp. The car's been timed at about 6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.
It's pretty quick.

I don't have any transportation company that I use, per se.
THere are transport companies that would take care of it, though.
If there was a serious offer, I could do some research and assist in getting this taken care of.

I forgot a few other things:
1. The car has custom machined 1/2" spacers for rear wheels to push them out and match the V-8 Archie skirts better.
That also includes longer studs.
2. New e-brake leather boot from the Fiero Store.
3. Windshield was new about 2 years ago. It's still pretty flawless.
4. After market ingnition coil for bigger spark. New was $250 CDN.
5. Had brand new set of red aftermaket sparkplug wires specific for Fiero, about 2 years ago. Since then one wire had a 'break' in it and I replaced it with a gray one because you can't purchase single red wires and I didn't want to spend another $85 bucks on a whole new set within 2 years.
6. The frame underneath the center console and radio stack was replaced about 1.5 years ago. The old one was all cracked. I picked one up in a very nice shape and glued a couple small spots. It sits quite tight right now.
7. CD player does not light up at night. I can't figure out why - may be an internal thing. Otherwise works very well and sounds great.
8. Driver's side mirror does not go up and down (only left / right). I don't think it's the switch because the right side works fine in all directions (same switch!). I may take it out this weekend (time permitting) and see if I can find the problem.

I have all original parts for the engine, i.e. intake hose, ingnition, etc. etc.
I also have some spare parts that will go with the car (good slave cylinder, extra shifter leather boot, small parts and pieces in a couple boxes, original Fiero manual from the factory).

That's all I can think of for today!

Going to a good home in Massachusetts.

Sure glad it's going to a good home of a Fiero enthusiast.
It's a big weight off my shoulders knowing that it won't end up in a local scrap yard the minute something breaks down!
(and not like it's never happened to a Fiero )

Incidentally, this was one of only (12) 1987 GT's with saddle interior and suede imported into Canada.
May be one of the last ones to go...

Thanks Lou and everyone else for interest.

I will miss it very much.

I sure will!
No can do tonight either but perhaps next month...

I had it there once last October but the only person that showed *any* interest was Ken.
To everyone else it was like an invisible car, like some kind of blasphemy.

after I get my other Fiero running, I'll see if he can help you out... If you want to drive down you can check them both out. It will be about a month before I get either going.
