Update 12-4--- Posted the car on Ebay they had Free listing for cars this past weekend! To those who I have bought and sold to THANKS! To those who don't know me, PLEASE! I am not looking for your poor remarks I am just entertaining real offers on my 1987 GT V8 5 speed. Most know of the cost which goes into these cars,we never recoup it! I have plenty of them and know, This car has maybe 5k on the motor,it does not presently have AC. does have new calipers and brakes all around! also a centerforce clutch, full NHRA approved roll cage at a cost of $2000,NICE RARe centerline rims, rear mounted battery. The paint is the original and is very presentable. I am sure the question will come up, horsepower--ENOUGH to spook most! 300+ maybe more? Never dynoed. With slicks you will see tree tops! Could use exhaust, presently supports Corvette ram horns. All gauges are factory and work fine! Interior very clean! Needs headliner and modify the door armrest. Again Serious only! Shown below with stock wheels. And air cleaner removed for picture!

I probably wouldn't be able to afford it now, but that really depends on what kind of price you're looking for. Can you give me (and the rest of the forums) an idea of what you're looking for for price?

very nice roll cage but NHRA only requires a 5-point roll bar (one loop over your head) with two rear supports ond at least the drivers side down tube for anything running 10.00 - 11.49 sec. and a full roll cage for under 10.00 sec. I'm not sure where you got teched in at but most would require those rear supports going to the strut towers if you were planning on running faster than 11.49.
nice car though, how much are you asking for it?

I would like to see a pic or two of the braces going to the strut towers, maily since I was planning on building a roll bar for my fiero next summer. that is definatly one great job on that cage though! I didn't realize it had strut braces also, I thought this was another "slap a pretty cage inside for good looks" type of cars. where did you get it built? thanks.

As I stated this cage was NOT CHEAP! It was done very clean and complete. See the braces to the strut area. Also if you look at pictures above of the engine you can see the cage at the strut section top of engine.

VERY NICE!!!!!!!!! Wish I had the money! I'm just across the river from you! I just bought my first Fiero and should have the transmission back within a week. Looking forward to actuallt driving one! LOL If you ave make it over to the Alton area I'd love to go for a spin in yours. I plan on dropping a SBC in mine eventually. I just sold an 11-second Chevy Monza to buy the Fiero. You have a VERY nice ride there! To the top for ya! Dave

Was it on Craigslist? If so...then yep, that was me! I had the Monza on there also. I ended up buying a nice 86 fastback from a friend of mine. I should have the transmission back for it within a week. In a year or two I plan on either selling this one and buying a completed V8 Fiero, or dropping a SBC in this one.......

thanks for the pics, whoever did that cage did a great job and was worth every penny of the $2k to make it so hidden and still NHRA approved for down to 7.50sec.
and sorry "The Stickman2", I have never looked into SCCA rules but there are to many 14-15sec ricers around here putting chrome roll bars in their cars for looks only... most of them are held down be two 3/8" bolts and you can move them around with your hands, lol. I'm just tired of seeing those "pretty" roll bars in cars that have no function.
again, good luck with the sale, that is a very professional roll cage and it will make for a good platform to build a dragster out of.

I said "Petty" bar which is named after Richard Petty. NOT PRETTY bar. It describes the cross bar that goes from behind the drivers head to where the passengers feet would be. If you look at the pic I posted my cage is no where near what you have mentioned. Mine cost darn near what Oldsdoctor spent.

Electric pump, and not even as hard to change as a factory with v6.
they arent terrible, But on my sbc fiero you have to pull the waterpump out right where you have that part of your cage. what pump do you have? im using a proform. did you notch the sheetmetal behind it out to clear the motor on the pump? i had to on mine. i have a streetdreams (thin plate) kit so im to think that with the archie kit your waterpump would be even closer to the right side then mine.
