I have got everything I need for the billiard ball shift knobs now. M16-1.5 is a pretty hard thread to come by! I have two that are ready right now. The "3" ball (red), and the "7" (burgandy). I made them two different ways. You can see in the pics that the "3" ball sits higher on the shaft than the "7". I tried drilling a few other older balls for practice. I only cracked one. The "3" style would sit better on a short shifter, but I don't have one to compare to.

I haven't drilled the others yet, so you can pick which kind of threads you want.
You can pick from the balls below, just tell me which number you want.
1. "1" ball matte finish
2. "1" ball gloss finish
3. "2" ball gloss finish
4. "3" ball gloss finish COMPLETE! (sits higher)(SOLD)
5. "4" ball gloss finish
6. "4" ball gloss finish
7. "4" ball gloss finish (very dark purple)
8. "4" ball matte finish
9. "5" ball matte finish
10. "5" ball gloss finish
11. "6" ball gloss finish
12. "7" ball matte finish COMPLETE! (sits lower)(SOLD)
13. "7" ball gloss finish (almost brown?)
14. "8" ball gloss finish (SOLD)
15. "8" ball gloss finish (SOLD)
16. "8" ball gloss finish (SOLD)

I am asking $25 each. PM or post if you have any questions. Any feedback or ideas are welcome. I have about $18 a piece in these after the ball, hardware, and epoxy. I was going to do a few cue balls, but for some reason they are ridiculously expensive (over $20 each). These are used balls, but most of them look brand new. I can give you a full description of whatever you are interested in.

Just an update..

I now have sleeves to give the bottom a little cleaner appearance. I'll have pics today.
I can do other thread sizes if you need one for another vehicle. I have a 2 ball on my Dodge Ram (3/8 X 16). Just let me know!

$25 will include shipping. If you want priority (2-3 days) just add $4.

These are definitly home made, and I do my best to make them, but I am not perfect. If you are not happy with them after you get them, I will refund you if you want to send it back. Like I said earlier, I am not trying to make alot of money from these, I just like the look and thought some of you might also. Just trying to help out!

I will consider trades if cash is tight! I think alot of us have that problem, myself included!

Forget to mention, if you want another number (stripes) I can get those also. Just takes an extra day or two. I could even do one that you send me if you find the perfect ball. Some people like the numbers on the side, and that can be done also. I'll take all the ideas I can get. Other than the smell of resin when drilling, this is pretty fun!

This is a pic of the eight ball I did with the new sleeves. They turn out a lot better! It also has the deep threads. If any one is interested in the 3 or the 7 that I started with, I'll cut a better deal since they were prototypes.

I think it would be possible. I would need a shifter with the old knob though. It would probably look like the 80's camaros with the button on top. Might look pretty good if I could get the number to be the button. Anybody wanna loan me a shifter and factory knob?

I would need at least a stock auto knob. A whole shifter would be best though. I have an aftermarket universal auto knob that I can use to adapt the pool ball to. It may be a little tricky, but I'll try. A solid ball that pushes down may be the best solution. It would just be spring loaded instead of a button. Anyone that wants to donate the parts needed would get a free shift knob if I get it to work. How does that sound?

I'd like a 13, antique looking if you have any mate.
Otherwise, what all matte finish ones do you have?

I almost picked up a 13. They are hard to find sometimes. I'll see if I can get back down there this week. As far as the matte finish, I have "1", "4", "5",and "7" (ready to go, and I'll sell it for $20. It was one of the first ones I did.)

The "1" ball hasn't been drilled yet. What I meant by the first ones I made, was that I was still experimenting. They look fine, I just made some structural improvements. The matte finish "1" is used, but in great shape for being a light color. It has no shine to it. Deep yellow, and you can actually grip, kinda like hard rubber. I am probably not describing it very well, just trying to compare it to something else. Let me know if you want me to drill it out and thread it for you.

I think I have got the auto knob figured out. Just waiting on the original knob to arrive and test my design. Update coming soon. The ball will appear to be like a manual, but will have the ability engage the button to shift the auto trans.

Just got my 8 ball shifter in the mail. Looks great. Nice work Carver 1. I'll put up a pic of it later so you can see it on a short shifter. Thanks again.

My 6 ball has arrived...and is the first new part actually installed on my Fiero during her resurrection. I knew I wanted a 6 ball before Carver announced that he was making them...he just provided the easiest way to get what I wanted. Now that I have it, I am glad I didn't try doing it myself...even after several practice ones, I still don't think I could have pulled off the quality of Carver's. This was money well spent.

I do recommend the deep thread. Even with the deep thread it still doesn't cover nearly as much of the shifter as the stock knob does. I will be swapping to a short shifter before too long, but here are some pics on a stock one.

You can see where the stock shift knob ended at the bend...this IS the deep thread ball.

It looks real good in the picture, and better in real life.

What else can you drill out and put threads in? What materials? Could you maybe take a shifter handle that is set for 1/2 inch diameter and make it fit my Fiero?

I'l try anything. Plastic, wood, metal, resin. I can drill it out to make it bigger, then use an insert to get the right thread size. Let me know if you want to send it to me.

Hopefully I can help the temporarily jobless.

I still need an auto shifter, and stock knob to get the pool ball shifter going for you auto guys. If you would like to send me one, I will return it along with a free knob after i get it working. Let me know if you are interested.
