I am offering my 1998 GTP 3800 SII SC motor that has only 7000 miles since a complete rebuild. It was originally purchased with 56k miles. A 25yr GM veteran mechanic did the rebuild.

Original cost of the used motor = $1500
XP cam = $350 (another $250 for installation and new bearings)
Oil pump = $89
Rod bearings = $95
2.5" Spintek catback exhaust (1200 miles since new) = $550
Stage 4 ported and polished blower (mirror exterior finish) = $750
MPS = $150 currently running a blue anodize 3.25" pulley with 0KR
Ported intake manifold = $100
LS1 TB kit = $250
Filled and painted valve covers by FieroX = $85
OR Pushrods w/ 105# springs installed = $250
Blue Taylor 8.8mm wires = $85
Rebuild kit w/ labor = $850

Roughly $5500 invested, asking $2800.

4T65E-HD tranny
-hardened 4th gear
-stronger blue clutches installed
-Gen 1 limited slip differential (eliminates failure from 1 wheel burnouts, but I have never done a burnout)

I've been to the track twice totaling 6 passes. The first few were before the LS1 TB and upgraded blower. I ran a 12.6 @ 107mph on street tires. I have heavier brakes, front slalom suspension, and audio components so a stock Fiero should run much faster.

Asking $1100

The reason that I am selling is because I want to build a motor from scratch, and it would be wasteful to tear a perfectly built motor that puts down roughly 300-310hp to the wheels purpose built to daily drive and have a fun spirited drive without eating/destroying bone stock 4T65E-HD trannies.

I can knock some off for an immediate purchase. If you want both, I will cover the shipping anywhere in the US or you can pick it up for $3500. It is currently installed, but will be un-installed within the next month or so.

More pics and info will be added soon.

How much are you keeping for the engine you are gonna build? mounts? harness? axles? will anything but the engine be included? MAP? MAF?

Sorry about all the questions my 3800 is having problems and I am wondering if it is the engine it's self...

All I am keeping is the mounts/hoses, axels, wire harness, and computer. All other sensors (many new).

Here's how it sounds...

That is an awesome deal. Someone needs to jump on that. You won't be able near that price if you tried to build it on your own.

Thanks for the post. I'd also like to add that the street tires were 225 cheapo's, and Zoomer at ZZperformance.com said that a 3" pully can be used with race gas (but I never tried). That should easily get a 11.9-12.2 with decent tires depending on how much weight you've added to the car.

PM returned.

I will sell both for $3500. I can't discount the engine seperately, so it is more like if you buy the motor for $2800, you get the modded tranny for $700.

First to call and make a deal gets them.

Eng was always $2800 + $1100 for a modded tranny = $3900

My message was saying that you would save $400 by buying both.

This message is also saying that I'll cover the shipping expense anywhere in the US if both are purchased within the next 2 weeks.

UPDATE: I am keeping the motor above, but going with an intercooled GenV set-up w/ built tranny. So the transmission is available, and I am open to offers.

The built motor that is ready to ship (that I was going to use if this sold) is now on Ebay. The ebay ad is the better deal, but if you want to buy my motor/tranny combo... I'll gladly end the auction.
