You need the v8 calpak to run a v8 or you can modify a v6 calpak, but it's usually easier just to find an 8 cylinder one. There is some hard coding, so to speak, in the calpak that affects fuel delivery.
Good price though, I may take one to keep as a spare in the trailer for the race car. I'll let you know

If I am not mistaken though, the Calpaks can be programmed to run a V8 TPI. Would need to ask Darth on that one.

I am keeping one of these for myself so I can install the 7730 ECM in my 86SE. Hoping to have that completed before Dells.. Not sure yet. I have the capability to burn my own Calpak, but no code for it. Wonder if Darth would send me the file so I could burn my own.
The calpak itself, not the actual EPROM, can do a couple of things. The EST circuitry can be on it as well as some circuitry that hard codes some fueling factors. the forum thirdgen.org has a really good resource on what works, what doesn't, and how to do some workarounds.
