I think he is talking about the half moon pieces that make the opening of the trunk somewhat smaller. And I beleave the seal touches them so yes.

I {we} just converted my SE to a fastback and the trunk seal I was given doesn't fit.
Can the half moon pieces be fabricated or is this a piece that is actually required?

The head on the screws should face on the top of the blanks. There is a right and a left. Look on the back of the blanks one should say RH and the other LH. If not you may have two lefts or two rights. Maybe someone will chime in on this question. Are the trunk blanks different for an 88 or all they all the same? Mine are pre88.

Yes they do have to be there . i did this same conversion almost a year ago. And no they cannot be fabricated. you might wana jump on these due to they are rare to find. He lives in jersey hes also a real good friend of mine and he wont try to screw you over.
