I have it listed and described on C/L.
http://dallas.craigslist.or.../cto/1453892287.htmlThe 1988 Pontiac Fiero is the last year built and has the best suspension and brakes. It would make a great fun first car for a kid without breaking the bank or a dependable car for anyone. Tires are in good shape with plenty of thread left on them. It would make a great parent/child project car. I have 3 daughters and each of them repaired their own Fiero. One of the advantages to getting your kid one of these cars is that it is ONLY a 2-seater. Not a lot of piling in and going for a joyride. If you don't like attention, don't buy one of these cars. People are always asking me what kind of car it is.
The 4 cylinder, 5-speed transmission gets great gas mileage and is extremely reliable. The car is currently tagged and inspected. There is NO rust on this car. Many kit cars are built using this platform. Also some people have put the GM 3800 supercharged engine in these cars and the car will run 11's in the 1/4 mile and still give 30+ MPGs. This car can be driven while you fix up your Corvette, Camaro, Firebird or any other hot Rod Rat rod.
It has a brand new water pump and battery installed. The tags and inspection are good until October of next year.
Now given that there are very few miles on this car, it has sat out in the Texas weather for 22 years and the interior reflects it and clear-coat is typical for the GM cars of the 80s. The little 2.5L four cylinder Duke runs great and the 5-speed tranny shifts fine. This car came with dealer added on A/C and a luggage rack.
This car was sold in Dallas Texas and has never been registered anywhere but TX (according to CARFAX). The hood has been replaced and is primered. All other panels still have the VIN tag on them. I have a headliner for the car but it isn't installed. The tires are in real good shape. It seems that it would be perfect to drive anywhere.
I'd keep it as a daily driver but I have other project cars that I use as daily drivers. As with most 21 year old cars, it has issues but with very little work it would be a very nice car once again.
One reason I hate to sell the car is because I doubt that I will ever find an 88 coupe that is so perfect for restoring. I have two other projects that I need to complete more.
Will consider some trades but not interested in guns or large household items. PWC-maybe Motorcycle-maybe. Truck-maybe

When life gives you lemons, thank them for the Fiero.
