your link is for an 87-88 but i'm sure you can find the right one. local parts should have one for between 50-60

no they are not the same. The 85-86 has an angled front where it attaches to the timing cover and it uses a cork gasket. The 87-88 does not have that angled area and uses a rubber gasket. You can use either on any model as long as you use the matching timing cover.

I just checked and actually they have gone up since I priced them before. Autozone has them for about $67 so just a $7 more than the link (after adding shipping)

My P22 book doesn't show any different parts numbers. Maybe I have an early version of the book.

The p22 is normally very reliable but not in this case. The picture in the p22 is an 85-86 notice the downward angle toward the front of the engine.
(Assuming you have the same p22 I do) Item 45 is the oil pan (don't know why they only list one number and only picture the 85-86). If you look at item 44 it is the rear seal for the 85-86 only (separate piece from the rest of the gasket) and item 90 is the oil pan gasket (one piece) for 87-88 only

The 85-86

The 87-88

Anyway the confusion is understandable but I guarantee they are different. If you find one with the other pan on it someone has swapped it out. Like I said before either will work as long as you use the matching timing cover.
